Only when you don't need to to fight off bears and other two legged predators. I hope it makes chainsaw noise while it cuts the wood. Otherwise it wood be a no go for me.Does the laser cut the log too?

No, we live in Canada and have the view of both falls from our side. No need to go to the US side other than we just wanted to because we used to live there.So...she had to stay home?
I have one and like it. On my ms460 it's possible to bump it while bucking big logs but not a huge problem. The laser is harder to see on a bright day but still visible.Since I'm sure that I'm not as good as the rest of the resident experts on this page, I thought I'd give the Firewood Pro Sizer a shot, so I could cut my rounds to 16" in a timely manner. At least I hope it's a timely manner, otherwise, one of the other guys on this thread will be receiving this free of charge so that they can give it a try to see if they like it.

Your life sounds similar to mine. My youngest is turning 4 this week and my oldest will be turning 10 in July. Time flies, enjoy every moment!Had a busy weekend so far. Bow shoot yesterday morning, then out to lunch, then took all the skids out of the wood shed and cleaned them out from the wood junk. Didn't touch the last row of skids as they were still full of wood, I'll need to rearrange them to the front so I use it up first this year.
Today I had my nieces birthday. Dang the kids are getting old quick. All our young ones turn 5 this year. Oldest Will be 8. My oldest 7. I remember the day each and everyone of them were born and brought home. Seems like yesterday.
Got home, cleaned out the chicken coop then started bucking wood with the 610evl. It's not the most gutless 60cc saw I've ever ran, but it's definatly one of the heaviest, lol. Had good torque though, didn't struggle too bad with the 24" bar on it. I ran Tru fuel through it then put it on the bench so I can clean it up, then shelf it. The 400 will be coming out tomorrow for sure lol.
The vw is working good, got a bigger intercooler for it I need to install and the tuner guy keeps finding more power out of my set up, right now I'm fueled for about 150hp (90hp originally) and she pulls strong to 5k rpm, before it fell flat on its face at 3k, almost like it hit a wall. Much more enjoyable to drive now. Very much looking forward to breaking 180hp out of it.
I joke but our government is heading the same way.Good heavens man, what are you saying!
Thank you! It's one of my favorites from the trip.Awesome picture.
So you guys went to Minnesota .
Watching Little House On The Prairie when they were living in MN there were always live oaks.
I love it. Tractors are an amazing time saver!Nice work!
Gotta like those Japanese power wedges .
Since we've moved in I've cut down about 30. Only 100ish to go. I'm losing 3/4 of my trees in the creek bottom and the rest are huge willows that are tipping over.I'm not looking forward to this Summer. I have so many dead Ash that need to come down.
Emerad ash borer has been devastating to the woodlots around here. Most of the woods that haven't been converted to farmland were in low areas with seasonal water. Ash trees are one of the few local species that can handle it and therefore are(were) a predominant species in most of the local woods. Lots of people are planting swamp oaks and silver maples to replace the loss.Hang on. You have lots of scrounge to come down...and this is bad? If only I had scrounge on my property
Cowboy what sort of vacuum are you using? Im looking to buy a new one just for the cars and reckon you'd be well qualified to recommend oneG'day fellers,
I was out on the scrounge again today. I think I'm getting even stronger from holding this thread up too .
Jumped the fence at Mitch's again today and came across a nice dry peppermint log which was obligingly off the ground. You can see it in this pic from the other day, mid-upper, slightly left, at the back of the logs, angled up to the left.
View attachment 1077289
Major attribute was that it was pretty much dry, and also mostly solid.
View attachment 1077283
Only issue being that it was behind other logs and up a steeper hill than is apparent from this pic.
View attachment 1077284
Anyway, I chucked them over the other logs (having halved them so they didn't didn't roll down and destroy Mitch's fence) then lumped the rounds down and chucked them over.

It's always a guess as to how much to cut to fill the ute and like my tendency at the dinner table, I over-estimated. Which meant that I had to do this.

Anyway, very happy with today's scrounge. Peppermint ready to burn is hard to beat.
Scrounge on
My Hi-tech measuring apparatus. I know it's accurate as in it's former life it was a competition archery arrow. Sometime I'll make a video of it in action.Obviously not. But I've tried quite a few of the measuring tools before. And while they work fine, they all force you to "walk the log twice", or retrace your steps. Once to mark it, once to cut it. I've been looking for something that lets me do it all in one step, without having to backtrack. We'll see how well this works.
After 6 cups of coffee (about 3 lbs of fluid) I was 230 on the scale. And I am shorter than you!Wish we still had dead Ash to cut for firewood here, I think most of them have either been harvested or have rotted.
Luckily, up at my property they are still alive.
I get on the scale every morning and get mad at myself if I'm more than 5 lbs over my target weight. Did better this year than the previous few years. My target is 185 and I stayed there most of tax season, but late March and Early April I did hit 92 briefly. The previous few years I kept bumping up against 200 and I was determined not to do that again. I don't think I could do my pullups if I was 25 over!
A guy I used to work with was only 25, but had a body like Hank Hill...we used to give him crap about his beer belly, but he claimed the ladies liked it. I dunno if I believe him on this, but his theory was the dad bod was a "provider" image to them.Good morning guys!
Today is day one of the diet, so I’m sure I’ll be crabby later. Hit it up big with carbs this weekend to send off in style lol. Yesterday alone, we had caramel rolls, French toast bake, baked spaghetti, and herb bread. I figured now is a good time to start because I have eight weeks to get the shape before my class reunion…I know there will be some single ladies there!
You know the funniest thing though….most girls, even good looking fit ones like a guy with a dad bod...go figure.
I figure I can lose or 25 pounds and still have a dad bod so I’m safe LMAO
Over and out, hope everybody has a great day.
Be curious to see these women, that were interested in him ,A guy I used to work with was only 25, but had a body like Hank Hill...we used to give him crap about his beer belly, but he claimed the ladies liked it. He'd then go onto say that I looked like a tweaker and women didn't think I looked like stable relationship material.

I haven't had the same issues with the AutoTune saws, they have their own set of issues, fortunately I've not had to deal with them much. I did need to adjust the air purge on a couple of them, and I've had updates done before selling them just for thebsake of saying it, other than that they've been just like standard carbs. The Mtronic saws I always reset when they come to me, but I don't do it often once I've got them, kinda like what you're saying, my elevation doesn't change much(which I think can effect them quite a bit, any thoughts mountain men) and I mix my fuel the same everytime (which I also think effects them quite a bit initially).Idk if it's cause I cut year round or if it has something to do with being stored in temp controlled environment, but I've never noticed any power gain or loss from them, I have heard them change tune and gain rpm in long cuts. Inky sae I had running issues with was when my 562xp went pig rich and the dealer didn't have a carb in stock to replace it, and claimed it needed an updated ignition module as well. Ended up getting the 400 at that point. Couldn't wait for parts to come in, as I was on a time line for finishing a job. It hasn't missed a beat so far.
Yes, time flys for sure these days. Work schedule sucks too, so doesn't leave lots of time when we're all home at the same time. I try to enjoy the time with the kids I have.Your life sounds similar to mine. My youngest is turning 4 this week and my oldest will be turning 10 in July. Time flies, enjoy every moment!
The TDI sounds like she's running well. Who's the tuner?

I haven't watched that show in years. I'm pretty sure live oaks are a southern tree.
I love it. Tractors are an amazing time saver!

Last year I was recovering a ride, and the other guys with me started laughing. Asked what was up and Justin said that woman over there said you have the perfect dad bod, and wanted to know of you were single. He pointed her out as she left and truth be told, I was surprised how good looming she was. My wife a good looking woman too, but just kinda figured she got used to the extra 30lbs I've packed on since I'm the kids food dumpster these days. Never thought my gut was attractive myself.Good morning guys!

Not good. Had a guru show me and he lost me at about step 4 with more to go. Ah, for the good old days. Plug in - picture on home screen. Click and paste. Neighbor has a teenage who owes me a bit, I'll ask him for a tutorial. How are you going with the pic situation?
What kind of phone do you have? When you take a picture with it the pic should be saved somewhere on your phone. Mine goes to my pic gallery. When I hit attach files (lower left)my gallery comes up. I tap the picture and in the upper right it says done. I tap that and the pic appears below my post. It will ask thumbnail or full image. Tap which one and hit post reply. We'll get you through this. We need pics of all that willow and your new 400.Not good. Had a guru show me and he lost me at about step 4 with more to go. Ah, for the good old days. Plug in - picture on home screen.
