The only saw I've had an issue with it on was a husky 55 closed port, totally destroyed the starter. I honestly thought it was seized up, then I got it to turn by hand a bit, checked compression and it was 180 exactly. Mean ole girl, and the compression release was meant to be used lol.
I've removed them on many saws, just another place to leak air.
They can be a problem sometimes for sure.

I went out to Will's place today to get started on some scrounge. Mostly, it is for my old mate Roscoe but also I need some wood for my cricket mate's widow so it was a bit of both. Will told me about this one. Didn't look very big from a distance but very thick up close. The trunk is chest height on me and that's Limby sitting on top.

Limby is cutting around corners at the moment, not sure what that is about. I managed to dock up a load for the lady in the ute with plenty left for Roscoe to get started on moving on the weekend. Used the 460 and the MMWS 241 this morning.

I chucked a few Y's and uglies in the trailer to take home which will keep us warm for a day or two. It is beautiful burning wood from this tree. Peppermint, no ash in the stove now and nice and dry. Plan is to go out with Roscoe on the weekend and slay the rest of this tree. Weather permitting.

This picture reminds me of the pond project, only a couple more buckets on the left side and you can fill it up 🤣.

How do you like the 241 in that hardwood, what bar does it wear(14"?).
What do you set the rakers with on Limby. I need a new bar for my 241, or to spend a bunch of time straightening the edges out. It came with the saw, and it's in very rough shape 😞.
I'll be doing some cutting in a bit, need to clean up a few more trees around the pond area. Wish I could do that today and tomorrow, it's supposed to get to 66 today and the same for tomorrow. Frost alert for tonight as they are saying a low of 34, may have to light the woodstove :blob2:.

It's really nice out here right now, especially after the warmer days we've been having. I saw 87 yesterday in the dive called Chicago, it's much easier to breathe here.

Mediocre scrounged wood I split this morning for a customer. Hope this helps.

I have a lot of dead Ash laying out in the woods for weeks now that is all bucked up into 80" logs. I think there are quite a few 16"ers out there too. I just need the time to pick it all up.
