You guys talking about shingles. 2 or 3 years ago we did tin on our roof. The cost difference between 30 year shingles and tin was marginal. Like under $500.00 the tin was around $3300.00 to cover 21 square roof and all the trim, screws etc.
I have enough tin here at the house to do about half the shop roof, called and got a quote for just the tin and top cap. $1900.00 and change for 14 13' panels and screws. That's just enough to cover one 30 foot side and the extra panel I need for the other side. Almost puked at the price. Gonna shop around for a while before I commit. Usually can find some good left overs surfing waste book.

C'mon man...
They still gotta charge me for the 8" they shorted me on the last line item, it was supposed to be 48, not 40".
This gets most my trim done, still probably do something to separate the walls from the gable to make it easier around all the openings. It will get wainscoting all the way around and both sidewalls completed . I probably should have bought a roll of metal and "barrowed"(see what I did there @H-Ranch 😆) a brake. But I'm already behind the amount of time it took to do all my trees here, it should be sided already.

Time to use up some of the lumber I milled out a few days ago,

I said I was going to use it for building half cord "firewood boxes", so I get started by putting three 48" PT 4x4's on my trailer and then I use "whatever I have" to make the floor. In this case, it's some really low-grade slabs I had from a previous log,

Resized-20231026-133500-S.jpg

and then start building sides for the box and I put a strap across the back to complete the job,

With that done, the only thing left to do is take it to the splitting yard to be used,

I've been wanting to build a hauler kinda like this, but actually sturdy .
Maybe I could use a set of motorcycle tires, while they are somewhat heavy, I think with the proper geometry/ergonomics, they would be very easy to move around with a lot of wood on it. Besides, now I have a welder ha ha!:happybanana:.
What I like about this one is it has those awesome flotation tires , look at how she's "sinking".

You must be feeling a lot better, all that takes a bit of energy.

I feel OK, but I have to take LOTS of brakes...

SR
I get that.
Been feeling so blessed to be able to have gotten all we did here at the house done after that storm. When we got hit in the fall of 2019, it was about the same amount of trees on the front half of the property, but I had what I believe to be the first round of the china-flu. I was out for 2 months and that storm was towards the end of it, I couldn't do much without coughing for a few mins straight, then I was totally useless for 5-6 hrs, glad I wasn't totally useless this time around :).
Hope you get to feeling better soon.

I especially love burning CGI wood in my OWB.

My old neighbor used to swear by this type of cart.

Bicycle wheels should be plenty for a wood cart like you show. Heck, there was a free wheelchair on Craigslist the other day and that would have the benefit of flat-free technology, plus give you rub rails for tight quarter maneuvering.

That's kinda like what I'm thinking, but when hauling and set inside I'd want it more upright. I's also want it to be narrower, so it can go in the front door easier.
I know how east those wheelbarrows at LKQ are to move around with a load in them, and they use hubs and a set of spare tires from a car. I'm sure I can come up with something, but I never had a way to fab things like that up here at the house.
That being said, I have a welder now, and don't forget it .
For those who know... :crazy2:.
