That's another option, BUT, from your answers here, I'm betting my last post was right.Or perhaps, you're just far superior at crossing the border than us common folk. lol

Saw them short logs up for me! I can always use 4' - 7' long WO boards . What a waste! Love the diameter of those logs.I didn't measure it, but it was cut near the middle, and I couldn't get even one 8-footer out of it.
I looked at all the trees before they were cut, there were several 17' logs in them, and that's how I would have cut them. The buyer can decide if he wants them cut shorter!
The tree guy should be de-nutted with a chainsaw! lol

You are obviously far more advanced in your border crossing skills than I, and I never should have challenged your vast level of knowledge on the subject. That's another option, BUT, from your answers here, I'm betting my last post was right.

Do you just bring in enough for the firebox and leave the rest in the wheelbarrow? Here's a wheelbarrow full...View attachment 1153560That should last 2-3 days at our temps.
Seeing that, I was going to ask, where's @H-Ranch been? Not scrounging because it's Winter? Here's a wheelbarrow full...View attachment 1153560That should last 2-3 days at our temps.
Yep...a little redneck but I'm ok with that. The real reason is there are lots of Asian ladybugs wintering in the woodpile and I don't wanna drag them in the house. Normally we stack 3 cords in the basement in fall but that didn't happen this year. If the ground was frozen I'd pile it on the patio with the tractor. Just gotta work a little harder this year.Do you just bring in enough for the firebox and leave the rest in the wheelbarrow?
Do the asian beetles make much ash when you burn them?Yep...a little redneck but I'm ok with that. Not noticable...maybe a few more BTUs.Do the asian beetles make much ash when you burn them?
Not here, we've gotten a lot of rain and the frost isn't very deep at all. It also helps I'm about 3/4 the way up from the bottom of the river valley and the ground is mainly gravel/sand, it drains very well.Transitioning to a long, cold, muddy spring.
We have clay/loam here. Gets greasy when it rains. We had almost 2" rain last Thursday so it's pretty wet. We have no frost here unfortunately. Not here, we've gotten a lot of rain and the frost isn't very deep at all. Saw this the other day and thought about our German conversation lol. I also have a 2005 Chevy truck saved for you on my computer.View attachment 1153609
Check the Laws in your State on overhanging tree limbs. Most States allow a homeowner to remove any limbs that are overhanging onto your property. In my State you can remove the limbs but you cannot remove the main stem of the tree. My neighbor removed most of his trees on his property. Now most of my trees are leaning towards his property aiming for the sun. He hates that fact. He hires a tree company to come in and remove my tree limbs. Since this is my woodlot I really don't care. I just think it is hilarious that he removed his trees and now he removes my branches because he caused my trees to lean over his property. Trees always lean towards the sun when there is an opening on the Southern exposure. My wife walked around several places and checked snow depth while I was plowing out the driveway and lane. She said the low side was 9" and the highest she could find was 11". So checking the chicken coop roof @10" was a good average.
I sure wish my jerk neighbor would let me thin the trees out around the property line. Shedding branches like crazy when the wind picked up yesterday. There are 2 oaks I'd really like to take down, and a little wild cherry thats going to disappear one day. With that heavy wet snow the wild cherry was leaned over way far in my side, and one of the oaks dropped a pretty big branch just missing the wood shed, but took out a section of the fence. Kinda wish it did hit the roof of the shed, then I could have gotten the insurance company to sue his dumb arse. Been a fight with him and the dam trees since I moved in.
Anyway, need to find an old plow to hack up for the kubota, took nearly 4 hours to get my driveway done and get the lane pushed off using the bucket. Usually my logging buddy comes up and pushed the lane open as his son live back the lane a bit further from me. But his plow pump broke. (I didn't know this till he called around 2:30 in the afternoon for a sos.) Got him back in his driveway and got to the point where it's not a bad valve. something internal let loose, so it needs taken apart to figure what's wrong with it.
You should be okay as long as the hose is not a thin wall hose that could collapse. I had a thick wall clear hose on the one I sold last year.@sean donato. Or any of you other "experts ". I have to replace the hose from my tank to the pump on my splitter. Do I need to use the steel (wire) reinforced hose? I have some that is not wire (pic) just wasn't sure. Thanks buddy.

Thanks Jim. The one I have is pretty thick. It's a hose for sprayer applications. You should be okay as long as the hose is not a thin wall hose that could collapse. I had a thick wall clear hose on the one I sold last year.
I'm still kicking, but haven't cut any wood in a while. Might get a chance next week if the weather is nice enough - neighbor has some logs in her yard from road widening project last year and she would like them gone. I'm just the guy.Seeing that, I was going to ask, where's @H-Ranch been? Not scrounging because it's Winter?
Fair weather cutter, what a slackerI'm still kicking, but haven't cut any wood in a while. Might get a chance next week if the weather is nice enough - neighbor has some logs in her yard from road widening project last year and she would like them gone. I'm just the guy.
