Good to hear from you sir.I'm still kicking, but haven't cut any wood in a while. Might get a chance next week if the weather is nice enough - neighbor has some logs in her yard from road widening project last year and she would like them gone. I'm just the guy.
Fixed for accuracyOR, perhaps I make an attitude adjustment when I get to the border. lol

Yes, on both!@MustangMike did you get to use that .338-06 on a deer or bear?
I've told this story a few times now, but I'll give the real short version of it. I can trim the trees, but I can't do anything to them that would kill them, the kind of triming they need will kill them. He's been sent notice, certified letters etc so whenever they fall and hit the house he's liable for any and all expenses. It was quite a bit of running around and expense but I should legally be covered when something happen again.Check the Laws in your State on overhanging tree limbs. Most States allow a homeowner to remove any limbs that are overhanging onto your property. In my State you can remove the limbs but you cannot remove the main stem of the tree. My neighbor removed most of his trees on his property. Now most of my trees are leaning towards his property aiming for the sun. He hates that fact. He hires a tree company to come in and remove my tree limbs. Since this is my woodlot I really don't care. I just think it is hilarious that he removed his trees and now he removes my branches because he caused my trees to lean over his property. Trees always lean towards the sun when there is an opening on the Southern exposure.
Should be fine, so long as it doesn't collapse when it gets hot.@sean donato. Or any of you other "experts ". I have to replace the hose from my tank to the pump on my splitter. Do I need to use the steel (wire) reinforced hose? I have some that is not wire (pic) just wasn't sure. Thanks buddy.

Nice! Glad you were able to put it to use. How did the Barnes bullet perform? I shot one deer with a solid copper bullet 20 years ago. I wasn't too happy, it was a good hit but the doe ran over 100 yards with very little blood. I was glad there was snow on the ground otherwise it would've been a tedious track through a swamp.Yes, on both!
Very niceYes, on both!
Not scrounging because it's Winter?
I can't help it if I'm ahead and don't NEED to cut wood. It is usually a year round project, just haven't recently.Fair weather cutter, what a slacker
100 drawers you are in the running for highest drawer count per bench.I can't help it if I'm ahead and don't NEED to cut wood. It is usually a year round project, just haven't recently.
I have been scrounging up some 24' tongue and groove boards for my garage tool wall to go above my hundred drawer workbenches. View attachment 1153693View attachment 1153694
It's a good thing they are outfitted for labelling I say. I could see myself opening every one before I found the drawer I was looking for.100 drawers you are in the running for highest drawer count per bench.
And then goin back thru them cause I missed what I needed the first time. It's a good thing they are outfitted for labelling I say. I could see myself opening every one before I found the drawer I was looking for.
I like the Barnes copper bullets because they kill reliably and penetrate deeply. However, they do not provide as much of a blood trail as softer bullets. How did the Barnes bullet perform?
The ttsx is a favorite of mine, really good preforming bullet in the 30 and 338 cal does pretty good in my 458 as well.I like the Barnes copper bullets because the kill reliably and penetrate deeply. However, they do not provide as much of a blood trail as softer bullets.
I hit the bear through the lungs right behind the shoulder and it did not go far (40 yards?). I was still watching it from the stand when it stopped and dropped.
Don't know what caliber you are shooting, but I'm sure the larger the caliber the better the blood trail and the faster the kill.
The bear came across in front of me (after being shot) and did kind of a semi-circle before dropping. I held off taking a 2nd shot as I could see the exit hole with my scope, so it did some nice damage.
In my ballistic testing, they penetrate about 50% deeper than most other bullets. The 8 pt buck I got with the 06 in 2019 (w/168 gr Barnes TTSX) went about 70 yards before dropping. There was a blood trail, but I'm glad there was snow. I was on the ground when I shot that one, so you can't see it for as long as when you are in an elevated stand.
I heard he plays this tune once he hits the highway.@chipper1 is there any credence to the rumor I started about you always listening to "On the road again" by Willie Nelson while you warm up your truck for deliveries?
