You guys should grab a remington 597. Been the most reliable semi 22 rifle I've ever owned. Only had a handful of failure to fire out of it. Not anymore then what I'd get out of any of my bolt/pump/lever 22's when you get a squib. Pretty darn accurate too. My biggest gripe is the meh trigger and the factory extended mags arnt real heavy duty.
My semi auto Remington in .22 wmr seems to choke on the next round freqently. Seems like the rounds don't stay centered in the mag. Anyone have any ideas on a fix ? I think it's accuracy is good, but don't trust it for loading the next round.

What model is it? I had a 22mag for a short stint, sold it to help fund the triple wall chimney in my first house. Was a savage semi automatic though.

Have you tried different brands of ammunition and different magazines?

Tried only a few different pills. I want to say it's a 597. As i'm stuck at work right now, I'm guessing on the model number. Last time out with it I blamed the mag

I've always wanted a Ruger Mark II.

How often dose your 10/22 malfunction? Mine cycles pretty good. Even when dirty. Not to say I never have a failure to feed with it. Anywhere from around one to three rounds per one hundred rounds fired, but what can you expect from an auto loading rimfire. I've also noticed that every now and then I will get an under charged load. That always creates a malfunction being the 10/22 is recoil operated. Both my 10/22s are the old style with the aluminum barrel clamp and trigger assembly. I'm not sure how the newer plastic models perform.
I had to replace the charging handle/spring assembly on mine... Apparently I exceeded the working life of the spring and it wasn't cycling correctly. It took many 10s of thousands of rounds for that to happen. 😉

There was the other guy who biked to work about 10 years ago. Get near him on most Monday mornings and you'd get buzzed off his breath, but he liked Jack Daniels and that was why he had to bike to work. He was only at work a couple of months and sent home more than a few times then ended up being a "3 day no call no show" and fired. As other people said I'll only drink Busch (in a can or bottle) if it's offered to me, but I won't buy it or any other light beer other than Coors Light and that's a a rarity when I do that.
Do you get Point Special way out West there? Beats _(any)____lite

These California forest fires are something else. Heard from my uncle that my cousin's house was burned to the ground and sounds like most of the town went up. Living in the deep forest with historically very little risk of wildfire, we often take for granted how quickly fire can burn in other areas.
particularly when it is dry, and they forbid cleaning any dead/trash/brush off the timberfloor.

Did you get OEM or something else? Did it fix the problem?

I've had my gun for decades, it has seen a LOT of rounds.

For the last week temps have been in the 20s and teens with a brisk wind. It stings your face even if you just walk the dog, put out the garbage or check the mail. That said, I'm so glad I don't live in CA!

And when you hear that Trump warned Newsome about both water management and forest management years ago, your head and your heart both ache!

Doesn't look like my mag, mine is cast aluminum. I don't have a magnum model either.
Edit : did a little digging on the interwebs. Seems the early polymer mags had feed issues in both the 22lr and 22wmr, my cast aluminum mag was the first "update" then there was another update at some point. (At least for the 22lr) been so long since I looked for mags, I never realized the model was discontinued in 2019 either.

I wouldn't be surprised that these were all set.

Newsom is a waste product of society that is all mouth and no action. He diverted the funds for the reservoirs that were supposed to be built.

Back when I did that it was OEM… I don’t think there were any options. It was a long time ago and doing modifications beyond sights wasn’t a thing on the 10/22. The replacement instantly restored the gun to proper functionality.

As I recall I got that gun around ‘72 or ‘73. It is a Deluxe Sporter and was on sale for $44.

Just think msrp on a regular sporter model is $379.00 😬 these days.

I don't remember exactly what I paid for mine, but I think it was high $60s or low $70s.

I believe I bought my 22 Deluxe Sporter after I purchased my M77 in 220 Swift in the early 70s.
