There was the other guy who biked to work about 10 years ago. Get near him on most Monday mornings and you'd get buzzed off his breath, but he liked Jack Daniels and that was why he had to bike to work. He was only at work a couple of months and sent home more than a few times then ended up being a "3 day no call no show" and fired. As other people said I'll only drink Busch (in a can or bottle) if it's offered to me, but I won't buy it or any other light beer other than Coors Light and that's a a rarity when I do that.
Do you get Point Special way out West there? Beats _(any)____lite

These California forest fires are something else. Heard from my uncle that my cousin's house was burned to the ground and sounds like most of the town went up. Living in the deep forest with historically very little risk of wildfire, we often take for granted how quickly fire can burn in other areas.
particularly when it is dry, and they forbid cleaning any dead/trash/brush off the timberfloor.

I had to replace the charging handle/spring assembly on mine... Apparently I exceeded the working life of the spring and it wasn't cycling correctly. It took many 10s of thousands or rounds for that to happen. 😉
Did you get OEM or something else? Did it fix the problem?

I've had my gun for decades, it has seen a LOT of rounds.

For the last week temps have been in the 20s and teens with a brisk wind. It stings your face even if you just walk the dog, put out the garbage or check the mail. That said, I'm so glad I don't live in CA!

And when you hear that Trump warned Newsome about both water management and forest management years ago, your head and your heart both ache!

Doesn't look like my mag, mine is cast aluminum. I don't have a magnum model either.
Edit : did a little digging on the interwebs. Seems the early polymer mags had feed issues in both the 22lr and 22wmr, my cast aluminum mag was the first "update" then there was another update at some point. (At least for the 22lr) been so long since I looked for mags, I never realized the model was discontinued in 2019 either.

I wouldn't be surprised that these were all set.

Newsom is a waste product of society that is all mouth and no action. He diverted the funds for the reservoirs that were supposed to be built.

Back when I did that it was OEM… I don’t think there were any options. It was a long time ago and doing modifications beyond sights wasn’t a thing on the 10/22. The replacement instantly restored the gun to proper functionality.

As I recall I got that gun around ‘72 or ‘73. It is a Deluxe Sporter and was on sale for $44.

Just think msrp on a regular sporter model is $379.00 😬 these days.

I don't remember exactly what I paid for mine, but I think it was high $60s or low $70s.

I believe I bought my 22 Deluxe Sporter after I purchased my M77 in 220 Swift in the early 70s.

I vaguely remember a tale the camp counselors used to tell us when we were at Boy Scout Camp (Camp Reed) in the Adirondacks. We were there for 2 weeks every summer, and I loved it ... shooting and canoeing, blueberry picking and hiking ... just great.

It involved finding a Collins Axe, and an axe murderer still running around loose at night. I don't think anyone really believed the story, but they tried!

Things weren't quite so politically correct back then.

In addition to the bolt action 22s used at 50ft, they had smooth bore 22s for trap shooting. IIRC correctly the shot shells were #9 shot. Almost impossible to break a bird with those darn things, but we tried! I don't think anyone has produced a smooth bore 22 for a long time.

We also had "Nature", where they would give you a have-a-heart trap to catch animals to bring to "Nature". You would get different points for different animals.

One time when I did not get to Nature in time to get a trap, I instead made a snare using twine and a tent peg. I caught more than one Raccoon with it but always ended up letting them go as it would snare their back leg, and I was afraid of breaking it.

Another time, a porcupine was going across our campsite, so we pulled the sheets off the Asst. Scoutmaster's bed and caught the porcupine with them. We got a lot of points at Nature for that one, but by the time we got the sheet off of it the porcupine was near bald, and the Asst. Scoutmaster was not so happy either!

Yea Roger. As far as 22LR goes. I've had my best luck firing CCI "mini mags" through my 10/22s. Some of the cheaper Federal and Remington target ammo wasn't as reliable.
I shot a lot of Remington Target in the 80s. My pistol club bought cases of it for the princely sum of $125/case. The NYS pistol champion, Cory Rich, was in the club and if it was good enough for him it was good enough for me.😉. He shot a scoped High Standard and I shot an open sight S&W Model 41 5.5” barrel that cost me $280. I just looked and they list for $1,759 now! Holy cow! I was a kid but I had good taste.😉

358, after seeing your mag, I’d check the spring tension

Uncle Mike, I’ve had my 10/22 apart a LOT

That spring is easy to replace, mine has a nifty aftermarket one in it
Also, Henry makes a smooth bore .22 for snakes and critters. Designed to live on a tractor
So you have a spring to pass along.😉
