I can see it now; A group of people watching the saw toss, and a contestant in the saw race can't get it to fire. The crowd watches a saw sail over them and well past the bench mark. To give a saw a good throw, you must truely be mad at it.

i could hum that pos poulin 2150 i have a friggin mile then lol!

Well, maybe another time. But for $850, why don't you have one over there and some of us can fly over?

I might not care about the saws though, with all of those Scandinavian women. Something about a girl with an accent. It's like an extra cup size.

Here is a reply that is way overdue and has been a monkey on my back for awhile. Don't mean to get off topic and I will save the majority of my thoughts for another time.......But......Sawtroll, is it true that you live near the final resting place of the German battleship TIRPITZ? I googled a map of Troms/Tromso, Norway and halfway down the page there was a pic of the Tirpitz with that ultra-cool North Atlantic camo scheme. Needless to say, I was floored. Spike and I are often exchanging WWII facts and stories and the fact that you live so close makes a trip to Norway that much more exciting. I've been to Finland before and the scenery is breathtaking.

Spike, you said it first...."Anyone up for a trip to Norway?" You bet. Let's make it happen. Will certainly take some planning, but definitely doable.

See ya on sat.

The sorry remnants of Tirpitz is resting about a 75 miles drive from here, but you can't see any of it above the sea surface these days - I guess most of the high quality steel has been "salvaged" and recycled some time ago......:censored:

:) Kelly and I got a nice chuckle, Belgian. Actually, I am the one who does the majority of the cooking in the household, but I must say that Kel' is learning fast. Spike leaves me flattered by calling this dish an "old style family" recipe, because it is incredibly easy to make. I will also be bringing a large pan of lasagna and three bottles of Chimay Grande Reserve.

BTW Belgian, if you were indeed attending the GTG you and I would certainly raise a glass and extend a solemn/respectful toast in memory of Witchy.

While we are on the subject of beer, I was raised on German beers and continue to enjoy many homemade recipes here in the States. I have to admit though, that the Flemish/Walloon(?) recipes are my favorites. There is nothing like smackin' your lips on a glass of Duvel, Chimay, etc. YUM!

Cheers

Dang, this must be the first GTG serving belgian beer..... I reckon you will have a great time. Since you are an experienced cook, I suppose Spike did exaggerate quite a bit...

I'll be looking forward to the pics and empty bottles....grrrrrr. I'll open up a Duvel myself just to comfort myself....LOLOL.

Important Change............

The weather forecast has gotten kind of lopsided, with Saturday @ 70% rain and Sunday being a perfect fall day, so we are going to make the switch to Sunday. I contacted several guys and this is the general consensus. Early in the week, they had both days rainy, but now the choice seems obvious. The only other choice would be to try another weekend, but we could end up with the same problem. Either way, a GTG on a cold and rainy day just isn't going to work. Gotta have nice weather so we can be out there running the saws, not hanging out in the store BS'ing about them.

I realize that we are going to lose a few people, and a couple of them I'm really going to miss. (Team Red won't be the same without the Maine contingent) But we should also pick up a few that couldn't make it on Saturday. Plus, a few guys confided that if they woke up to rotten weather, they would most likely have bailed. So we were going to be losing people anyway.

So..........who's going to make it Sunday? We got plenty of wood to to cut up!

BTW, we'll have a TV in the store, and maybe outside as well, for guys who need to look in on the football world during the day.

I hope Sun works out better weatherwize for you all. Sun won't work for this part of Team Red. The biologist and I will be getting together up here Fri honing our skills on rebuilding a couple old jreds and tearing up my winters wood which is ready to be fit and split. So from myself, and I 'm sure speaking for Lee we wish you all the best, and have a lot of fun, eating, drinking, and sawing!! (Perhaps not in that order!!)
Sorry, but we have to bow out as it's a long, long way back up here and not fun after a day of sawing and carrying on.:cry: Maybe next year at "spikes GTG #3"

Take lots of pic and post a lot so we don't miss any thing!!

Have fun and be safe!!:cheers::cheers:

I feel with you all - the weather has been bad enough for weeks here, to not inspire any outdoor activities........:censored:

I do wish we could make it down, but like Cantdog said it is a long drive back and my schedule isn't very flexible during the week. I am certainly looking forward to the pictures, and I hope the weather holds out for a beautiful day.

I was really looking forward to camping, the sawing, drinking and hanging out with fellow AS members. Hopefully there will be #3 and it falls on a nice day and Cantdog and I can make the trip. We will have a consolation GTG up here tomorrow, well a meeting you could say. Team Jonny, The Maine Chapter will have the monthly meeting.

Have fun!

Talked to Spike today and I am still in. Gives me and my helpers a chance to get at least 10 cords split on Sat.

I am really bummed that I won't be able to meet Cantdog and PB. I will be in touch with you guys on the Jred Network. Looking to get away in early '10 and Maine will be my destination.

That is some arsenal leeha has listed there. If that list doesn't get you psyched, nothing will!
See ya on Sunday.....

If you get up this way we should meet up. I live right on the "Beautiful Rockbound
Coast of Maine" Right in the middle of a number of "destination areas". That may be the only way I get to try some of those renowned stuffed peppers. I'll supply the "bugs" translation--Lobsters!! We'll stay in touch for sure.!!:cheers:

cuttinscott, This is truly great news! A 681! I have been researching a 681 heavily lately, but have never seen, touched, or ran one. You just changed all that.

If I may ask, which model Timberwolf will you be delivering? I bought my TW-2HD (fully optioned) about 4 seasons ago from an outfit in VT by the name of, get this, GTG Power Equipment right around the corner from Timberwolf. I am doing just under 100 cords a year and the 2HD is getting worked hard. I will be upgrading to the TW-7 real soon. Looks like we will have plenty to discuss. See you there.
