I would like to see the piston too It might have been straight gassed.good chance.

Exhaust side pic is up there, intake side incoming.OP, can you post a pic of the intake side and exhaust side of the piston so we can figure out what possibly did this?
Yeah if I’m gonna rebuild this saw, might as well replace the crankshaft. At this point I’m leaning more towards used oem parts. That got way too hot, connecting rod tells the tale add a new crank to the list.
That’s what I hope for when I bought this saw. But it’s strange that it’s been obviously in use for a while even the gas residue appears to be mixed. It’s unlikely the same person using it before put straight gas in it.I would like to see the piston too It might have been straight gassed.
Definitely OEM you can even find some used parts for that saw on here.Yeah if I’m gonna rebuild this saw, might as well replace the crankshaft. At this point I’m leaning more towards used oem parts.
Pics of the front and back of the piston will help. That’s what I hope for when I bought this saw. But it’s strange that it’s been obviously in use for a while even the gas residue appears to be mixed. It’s unlikely the same person using it before put straight gas in it.

I get a lot of 2 stroke equipment that was straight gassed but the customer will pour it out and put premix in and then lie about it, sometimes they try and fix things and do damage also and same thing they don't tell me what they did and I have to try and fix what they did and it takes me longer to diagnose when they do things like that. That’s what I hope for when I bought this saw. @pioneerguy600I watched a video on YouTube. One guy shows how to rebuild a ms460 top end. He recommends to use only one ring on the piston, any thoughts?
Bad carb adjustment? Fuel clogged up?Prob a lean seize.
Air leak, somewhere from crank seals, gaskets, intake boot ripped. Check the carb adjustment screws very carefully, count how many turns out they are at now they should be around 1 out on each one.Bad carb adjustment? Fuel clogged up?
Don't rely too much on everything on YouTube.I watched a video on YouTube. One guy shows how to rebuild a ms460 top end. He recommends to use only one ring on the piston, any thoughts?
But if it is on the internet it must be true!Don't rely too much on everything on YouTube.
Intake boot looks good, gasket is falling apart when I take cylinder off. Don’t know where the crank seals are, I’ll have to look for them.Air leak, somewhere from crank seals, gaskets, intake boot ripped. Under the flywheel and the clutch.Intake boot looks good, gasket is falling apart when I take cylinder off. Don’t know where the crank seals are, I’ll have to look for them.
