Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep the chips from getting traped under the bar cover guide. These chips start smoking when the clutch gets hot, the chips also work their way up near the muffler and smoke too. Anything you guys got may be helpful, I just rebuilt this saw complete and it runs beautiful. Someone must have had this problem before with these old dogs.

This happens to me alot while carving because I have to cut with the grain, makeing noodles. Cross cutting is no problem. This is with all my saws.

Are you using it as a milling saw? Once I ultimately get my 3120 set up for milling, I plan on removing the side cover completely, and replacing it with a machined plate just big enough to just apply clamping pressure on the bar.

Then, let the chips fall where the may!
