Nice site, been lurking for a while and finally joined up!
Been using a Husqvarna 455 Rancher for a few years and really like the saw, but it's time to step up to something bigger to better suit my needs. I'm torn between the Stihl 440 and the 441. They seem to be fairly similar to me, the 440 is about a pound lighter and about $60 more. The 441 supposedly has newer technology, more fuel efficient, less vibration, yada yada yada... The dealer says he'd go with the 440 any day over the 441. Now, does he just want to make more profit, or is it really a better machine?
I plan to run a 24" or 28" bar and the saw is only going to be used for the big stuff when I need it. The 440 is going for $819 and the 441 is $769, both with the 20" bar. Both come with the Pro Kit, and he's selling me the 28" bar for $45, chains are buy one get one.
Which would you go with, and why? Excited to add a second Stihl to my lineup (have an S10 from my great grandpa). Thanks!
