My friends and I have had this "discussion" several times.
They are of the "newer is better" crowd.
I, on the other hand, think good saws aren't broken and don't need to be fixed.
I'm real comfortable with the tried and proven technology.
I have crank up windows, manual transmission and RUBBER floor mats in my truck.
I wouldn't trade a good running 440 for five 441's and I wouldn't trade five 440s for my 372!!!
But what do I know? After all I'm ONLY a firewood cutter.

buddy, I hate to say it but I think you're dead wrong. I've not met a 372 in the same league as yours, however, stock for stock, 441, 372, 440 IMHO
BULL CRAP!!!
You don't hate to say it, or you wouldn't keep repeating yourself so often!:hmm3grin2orange:
I can see how a guy of your stature would favor an overweight pig that handles like a barbeque grill though!!!LOL:msp_tongue:
Don't be posting popcorn guys we go at it like this all the time:msp_biggrin:
At the end of the day he is still my brother and I love him.......even if he doesn't know a really good saw when he sees it!

The 441 had a hard time out cutting the 576:msp_unsure: a xpw is right with a 576 when I had both stock.:jester:
Is the MS441 C-M the model that's had "hot re-start problems and rough cold-start" that resulted in thousands of
replacements( with MS440 ) being interchanged with US Parks Depts. ? The Latest MS441 R C-M is the "fixed"
replacement for that troublesome predecessor ? Is this correct ?
I believe a 441 C-M would walk all over a stock XPW.
Can you tell the difference on the shelf between the newest 441 and the oldest? What to look for?
I am seriously rolling the idea around of getting one and having my 460 ported instead of getting a 660 which I would rarely need.
My thoughts were 28 on 460 which I have and running a 20 on the 441
I couldn't buy a 372 here to save my life. This is Stihl country out here.
just get the m-tronic model. but the easiest way to tell the newest 441 from the older ones, now is the stainless steel muffler (same on thats on the m-tronic)
