My dealer wants $260 for this handheld blower. I'm looking for the best mph/weight ratio. Anyone priced these at their dealer?
thanks

$219.99 list
Five year warranty is just as good as a two year warranty. If it's going to be warranty it is going to happen 99% of the time in the first three months.
Echo does not have a handheld that can match the BG85

$219.95 sticker, maybe $10 less for cash sales, and less still if you're a preferred customer.

If you are looking for a handheld, this is THE blower to buy. I bought a BG55, BG85, and an Echo PB200 handheld last year. There is no comparison between the BG55/PB200 and the BG85. The BG85 is worth every penny over the others, and even gives my BR420 a run for its money on light material on paved surfaces.

As for the warranty differences, if it is still running in 90 days then the machine is good, so far as I am concerned. Additionally, unless you have a non-bigbox stocking/servicing Echo dealer nearby, the longer warranty with the Echo is near on to useless anyway. And when you factor in the power advantage of the BG85, there really isn't anything else to talk about.

All Stihl lawncare products have a 2yr consumer and 1yr professional warranty.

How can my dealer price be higher than list?:dizzy:

I dumped my old dealer because he was charging me +50-100% on parts. They can charge whatever you are willing to pay. I was no longer willing to pay, so my business went elsewhere. I'll drive the extra 25 miles round trip just for the satisfaction of supporting a good dealer.

Is that new in box? what is shipping to 28352 NC?
thanks

No it has been used quite a bit. You are better off buying new. Is there another Stihl dealer that you could check the price at. The price you were quoted is pretty high.
Good luck.

yeah, I will have to check around. I have bought around $375 worth of chains and bars already from them.

where in NC are you? prices do vary a little depending on whether you are in an area that has a stihl owned distributor or not, but i'm pretty sure all of NC is covered by Mid Atlantic so that does seem high.
