I don't know if this was posted already:::

Why do I have a feeling that this started as a bunch of guys tossing around ideas by the camp fire, with an "I bet you can't..." moment ??? Either way, it's cool as hell. I wonder how long a tank of fuel lasts.

Pros (that I can think of):
  • Great power to weight ratio.
  • Being a jet turbine, it's constant torque.
  • Having a geared down drive train, it's going to be a torque beast.
  • Turbine engines require less maintenance than piston engines.
  • Little to no vibration.

Cons (that I can think of):
  • That exhaust will need to be redesigned to not torch the forest.
  • Dirt/dust in the intake will be a problem in very dirty environments.
  • If you're working with a crew, unless everyone has this saw, you're going to need a separate fuel supply.
  • If they ever bring it to the market, it's not going to be cheap. Replacement parts are going to be equally not cheap. (Engine tolerances will be tight - I doubt the Huztl engineers can pull this one off :ices_rofl: )

May need to carry a battery and starter along with a laptop computer. Never catch on, way too quiet! :)

Laptop into the woods, no problem.
