WTB full wrap handles for my 361. All the Stihl dealers have different prices, why is that??? Here, I heard 89.00. Around central FL 109.00 to 129.00 for part # 1135 790 3600.

What brandon said plus the dealerships that your calling probably have different levels of dealerships which means they are each getting them at different prices.

There are two different kits...

The price differences might be because there are TWO kits..., AND, the early pricing from last year on just the handle bar was wrong.

The prices may vary a couple of $$ from stihl region to region, but here are the correct prices MSRP (the "S" is suggested, but most dealer sell at this price) and part numbers. Yes, dealer discount varies from Stihl, but the msrp is the same. Shop around..

1135 790 3600 is JUST the handebar, wrench and new top springs buffer - $89.95 (Stihl NW)

1135 007 1007 is all the above PLUS a full depth side cover and dual dogs - $138.30 (Stihl NW)

The second part number is a great deal - heck, you can sell your old side cover for $40, and you get the $30 Dual dogs..

Can Stihl parts be bought over the phone out of state?
So far my dual dogs have been backordered in FL.

Stihl dealers aren't supposed to do that. The easiest thing to do would be to have someone buy them for you and then send them.

I just ordered duel dogs for my 361 today in pontiac michigan.. The dealer showed me the pic on the parts computer and charged me $5.50 . Said he never has sold a pair yet. But the two plugs to cover the muffler bolts were 5.00. He called the dogs the chain catcher kit.

You got that catcher kit for the 361 for $5.50??? The one with the inner and outer dog and all the mounting hardware??? If you did... you stole it mang!

Let's see what he gets... :hmm3grin2orange: The Chain catcher kit is NOT the dual dogs.. it's the little ceramic roller and post that mounts between the dogs.

The dealer used the wrong part number or didn't look up the price correctly.

Here's the scoop..

The dealer misread the IPL... here's the pic..

The assembly of Bumper Spikes (Stihl for Dog) AND chain catcher is part number 1135 650 7750, and lists for $32. The chain catcher alone is part 1135 650 7700 and lists for 5.45... and is item 23 on the IPL... The ipl is confusing as it lists the -7750 as chain catcher also, but ..

So.. what you get depends on what he ordered... You definitely only paid for 23...

After looking at your diagram. I had to go back to the saw shop.. They only ordered the darn bushing and a nut.. Dang I knew it was too good to be true.. Im glad I said something on here. Or I would have gone in a couple days after the part came in and been bummed.

Yeah. That was it fella's just the roller.. Hehe. I told the dealer today that I thought those were 30.00 bucks or so. And sure enought he ordered it wrong.. Stihl worth 30 to me. Mabee monday they will be here.

Full wraps and hot dogs...

Oh man! Now you have convinced me to get a full wrap and full depth hot dog clutch cover... its hopeless! I will need them for the 441 too. 'Spensive habbit I have now. :chainsaw:

I suppose I could off the original bars and clutch covers on Ebay. Maybe gold plate them and get $100 each? Limited edition collector Stihl parts, specially made from the Franklin Mint... :dizzy:

Chain catchers... (read: cheap)

How much does just the stock inner dog cost???? What about the stock aluminum chain catcher???

I got a chain catcher for the 290 the other day. Cost about a buck-sixty. Little aluminum doo-dad and a new screw.

Funny... the clutch cover is the chain catcher is the side plate cover is the sprocket cover is the dawg mount is the sawdust catcher is the... ???

You are thinking of these things as they ask you at the Stihl checkout counter, "Metal or plastic?"
