I seem to remember someone mentioning a reference book of sorts with Stihl saw specs & dates of manufacture, etc. for all the different models. Am I dreaming or such a thing exist.

There is the PRIMEDIA "Grounds Maintenance Equipment Blue Book" 800 654 6776

The book is about 1 1/2 inches thick. Coverage on all outdoor equipment back to 1985.

The price has got up to $52 I believe, so I buy one only every two or three years.

I believe these Primedia people bought out the old Intertec book. I have a couple of those because they go back further in years

concerning this book . i bought one. its very useful. u will find erros in it ,
like say a big jump in power or wt for a given yr then the next yrs specs are back to the original specs posted.
these are not mistakes in all cases ,but i suspect they are in most.still a good book.

Thanks guys, I'll look into one of those. I have the 10th edition of Chainsaw service manual print ed by them. It has some big gaps in saw models and no hp ratings.

I have what I think is the newest version. 10th edition for saws upto 1998. But, it's not all inclusive on saw models.
