Basically all I have at this point is a top cover and handlebar. I can get a case welded up, no problem there.
I have a local guy who is excellent at welding mag and "pot metal."

I have to say, that's PROBABLY the most minimalistic starting point of a build I've heard of, but hey, i'm sure SOMEONE's started with something smaller... oke:I could sure use that 575 now. LOL
That's not a cut-off saw, you crazy....
Oh, besides, it's packaged with,and promised to someone that also needs a 064 cyl, AV mount, and a couple other odds & ends :monkey:

I've started with less. I built an 036 once, starting with that black "handle molding" piece that covers the pistol grip.
Which reminds me- I have a good 036 cylinder if anyone needs it.

i built this 440 off new and used parts off ebay ,before they rereleased them the same way ,started with set of used cases and bought ,crank bearings ,brake parts etc all off ebay auctions ,i couldnt just buy one at the time is why had to build from scratch View attachment 248212 i bet i have 1500 bucks in this saw including randys work now

After I ran CCleaner, feePay showed up with the listings in multiple columns (gallery view), not in a single column (list view) like I was used to seeing.
You'll find the View as: option just under All items.. Auctions only..Buy It Now..Products & reviews selections.
Tom, how long a bar that be for?
I have a loop of 1/4" for a 15" Remy bar around here somewhere.......................

Rob- it's all yours...I figured I would end up having stuff you needed, it was just a matter of time.
If I remember right I got a few new in stihl RM. If you still need it PM what trading stock you care to move in case I'm interested . I could use some 3/8 50 ga semi chisel .

Just a note of warning to everyone: If you try to make a trade with Ed he will "one up" you. I sent him a NOS padded seat cover that probably wasn't worth the shipping cost and made him promise not to pay me. About a week later two (not one, but TWO) Solo chainsaws showed up at my door with a note that they were not mine, but projects for my son, Digger. Dang it!:bang::bang: I have wanted to tear into one of those for a while! Not the tiny ones mind you, but the 55cc variety. There's more than enough to make a good runner out of the two of them, and just in time for his 10th birthday later this month.
