going to throw this out to everyone,,, i am putting together an 041av fb for an old guy,, he blew the plug out when running it the other day,, i just got the cylinder back having a helicoil put in,, yes thats what he wanted done,,, i need a base gasket for it to get it back together for him,, northwood saws web sight is messed up and i don't trust fleabay,, he is not rich so i am donating my time to get it going for him,,, i know,, this idiot 08fer does a lot of work for free,, yes i do and i love it,, anyway i have some green paper with some brown stains on it and have a few things for trade,,

Put it together without a gasket.Just check your squish,be just fine! Use something like 3-Bond to glue it up.

Or if you are any good you can cut your own, I cut several a month for old saws that are NLA as far as parts go and for saws I am porting to get the right squish.

i thought about that,, since i am a retire automotive mechanic i have plenty of experience cutting gaskets

first come first gets these,, sorry no pic,, heres the story,, i had that huskie 55 a few weeks ago,, a guy come by and just had to have it so i sold it to him,,, i had already replaced 2 av's on it and had to order to replace the other 2 just for sh*** and giggles,, they weren't bad,, any who,, the 2 new av's come in the other day,, so i have 2 brand new av's for a 55 huskie if anyone wants them,, i don't want anything for them just need an addy to send them to

thanks jockey,, i would go with just sealer like any other mod but he is against it,, i know that because i mentioned to him about doing that because of the parts maybe hard to get and he said he was in no hurry to get it back and he wanted me to get the gasket,,, so i must respect that

Its in great shape but the cylinder and piston are junk, straight gas. What you have to trade? Im interested in 372, 385, 394 that needs top end.

Why would someone trade a newer larger saw needing a top end for a smaller older one with the same issue? Not to mention spring A/V vs rubber....
