Not sure if this is the best place to post this but, I purchased an Oregon AX511 (New), and now that the cat is out of the bag, I have people wanting me to do their chain sharpening. What are the current rates. Spent several years using the 511 when I was in the business full time. But its been awhile. One shop I worked in we used to charge by the cutter then add if the depth gauges(drags) also needed taken down. Another shop we just charged by the chain length as determined by the number of drive links. That cost was set to be constant weather the drags were ground or not. Which I believe led to a bit higher cost for those who had chains not ready for the drags to be ground. of course Im thinkin in terms of US dollars. the overwhelming answer I get when I call the shops in the area is bring the chain in THEN well discuss price! Dirty Dogs. They are afraid of the competition, specially since I do much better work than most of the guys in this town. Just sayin.:chainsawguy:

Prices vary a lot around here, but most are around 5 bucks for chains up to 20". Add a dollar for rakers or over 20". However, my one husky dealer charges $2 for any chain and will do it on the spot. If I was you, I would do everything for 4 or 5 bucks. Might want to venture into selling chain and sharpening mower blades too.

Need a set of spikes/dogs/dawgs (whatever you wanna call 'em) for a Husky 372. Have cash, but they are only ~$40 new at the dealer.

Anybody have parts for my new project saw? I just got it and haven't dug into it, but I know I will need a muffler at the least.

Anybody interested in this? It's going on ebay in a few days if no one seals a deal with me. I also have a poulan 4000.

Craftsman/poulan 3800. Right around 130-135 for compression. Starts and runs nicely. In good shape. More pics if needed.

McCulloch D30 might be available for trade for Stihl 026 or similar.

I found a McCulloch D30 in great shape, with original bar, with the yellow painted shape still on the end. I have not gotten it running or purchased it yet, but I would be willing to pick it up and pass it on to a serious collector. I am sure the owner will sell it to me, and I would be willing to trade this saw for a used running modern stihl saw like an 024, 026, 036, or similar.

I hope this post is the right place for this since I am not selling this saw, it is only available for trade.

$40 a pair? What dawgs are they?

The bigger, longer 272/2171 dogs. Why they should cost so much more, I don't know, but that's what they quoted me. I mean it's only just a little bit more sheet metal! I'm not about to pay $40 for a pair of spikes, don't worry. Just wanted to return it to 'stock', that's all.
