ive got a 064 for sale in the classifieds and $500 wont get you the chance to smell its exhaust while i use it. a nice 064 will sure enough make a new 660 look pathetic.( when you say ported 064 it gets even worse for the 660) saws are worth just exactly what the buyer and seller agree upon. not a penny more ,not a penny less. if your willing to pay the sellers price then go for it,if not, move on.

I regularly get what would be considered "too much" around this forum, for all the saws I build. A good 064 is worth $500-$650 in my opinion.....I can't keep them on the shelf, so I must be right!:D

If you don't like someones price around here, move on and buy an Ebay saw....Then you can start a thread on how you got screwed on Ebay....:msp_thumbup:

064 with 066 top end....

I just dont appreciate it when he brought up my reading comprehension because of our differing opinions of the value of his chainsaw and then lied about his previous statements.

but........who really cares anyway?:msp_w00t:

Saving the space for when I have more time. But, to call me a liar is messed up.

Here we go, in chronological order...

My original post minus some pics.
Making room. :)

064 runs, oils, cuts well. Missing front, lower left AV buffer. If I make it by the dealer I will grab one, the screw and plug/cap for it are included. The right cylinder cover bolt is stripped, I have an original screw but haven't decided whether to helicoil it or tap it bigger. Dual dogs, HD filter, Walbro carb (wj6 or wj10 I don't recall). 155psi on my gauge.

Bar is 24" to the tip from the spikes, the size is worn off. How do they measure Stihl bars?

It should clean up nicely.

Your pm to me and my response. I deleted the response where you told me the saw wasn't worth that much and you had bought two cheaper than that and 064's only bring $350 on eBay and all of the above are nicer than mine. Feel free to post that one, if you'd like but, I think I hit the highlights. I didn't think it warranted a response.

Says he wants 500:dizzy:

Nowhere did I say I wanted $500 from you. I merely told you what I thought the market may bear. Somehow you didn't understand what I wrote and added an emoticon to insinuate i may be out of touch with reality. Which led to this...

Umm, no I didn't but thanks for sharing your low reading comprehension.

While I appreciated your $250 offer I'm out not sure why you didn't just post it if if you intended to share what was said in pm's. We have differing opinions of what the saw will bring, no need for you to be pissy about it.

This is where I disagree with you politely and let everyone know that anything said to you in a pm is subject to you posting in the open forum.

I only know what they sell for on eBay, and I have the pm to prove you are asking 500 on Craig's list. That saw would not bring more than 350-375 tops on eBay right now. I bought both of mind cheaper than that and they are both cleaner. I posted what you told me in our pm so that other people would not waste there time thinking you want a reasonable price for your saw. next time you want to sell something post it in the classified section with a price.

Andrew

This one is you telling me my saw is worth $350-375. But, I should sell it to you for $250? I don't follow your logic there.

Also, you got a saw cheaper. I got some saws for free one time, does that mean they are worthless.

I just dont appreciate it when he brought up my reading comprehension because of our differing opinions of the value of his chainsaw and then lied about his previous statements.

but........who really cares anyway?:msp_w00t:

There's the one where you are offended because some one had the audacity to call you out on your obvious lack of comprehension, of the English language.

Then you called me a liar because you didn't understand what I wrote. Then asked who cared. Well, I care. Your lack of understanding does not make me a liar.

I never stated that is was trash, I said it what he was asking and its too high in my opinion.

Again, you are speaking about something you didn't understand in the first place.

do you have any problem with me posting the pm, so we can put this to bed.

Don't bother, I got it covered. :D

That saw is $350 tops as it sits. What Tom did is one thing I learned a long time ago: never post pics of a dirty saw...and yes, Randy is older than most of us...but not me (don't think)!

I posted an accurate picture of the saw. I am under no illusions that it is in mint condition or is going to bring top dollar on AS. An offer of $350 would not be met with disdain. That would still be %40 more than Andrew offered. :D

See where I stated that Stihls can go for silly money in my local area? I believe it is quite clear that I would feel very fortunate to have someone give me $500 for the saw, hence me saying "stupid money".

Then I state that if I cleaned it up it would bring $500+ on eBay, a auction website known for inflated prices. Especially on Stihl equipment. That being the case, it is not cleaned up and not on eBay. To assume that the more educated enthusiasts on AS will pay the same premium as people on eBay for most saws is ridiculous

You said you are asking 500 and cleaned up it would bring over 500 on the bay, to me thats too much. Your first post was about you cleaning out some space, I offered a fair starting price, and I would have paid more untill i understood you are asking 500.00 for the saw(too far apart on price to make a better offer) , according to the private messaage where you state your asking 500 on CL and that it would sell for more on the bay. The asking price I posted is the same thats on your CL ad.

What rubbed me wrong was your pointless insults, opinions will differ from person to person. But I WILL NOT STAND FOR PERSONAL INSULTS! It achieves nothing positive.

I think it would be best to agree to disagree, because its not worth to much more than its become. I hope you understand the point I am trying to get across. Sorry for any unwanted stress, and lets get back to the swapping of parts not opinions.
