now that looks like fun

It would be a ton of fun...

Currently saving up for one... I've already got 25 mags to use with it...

CTD is your friend... I bought the mags a couple years back, when they were .97c a piece, now they are going for 1.97... these are the surplus German aluminum mags, and they are genuine HK mags... dating from the 60's and 70's.

Yeah, I feel bad for you guys. Some idiots years ago thought they should put this person in office, and as a result, all of the Aussies lost their gun rights.

Scary thing is that there are those that are trying to do that same exact thing to the US...

I still can't believe that you guys simply gave up your gun rights.

Now I'm not poking or prodding or trying to piss you off, but why didn't you guys fight back?

Here, a war would break out between the citizens that love their right to bear arms and the government that is stupid enough to try to take that right away.

just had a reply for you but this @#$%^&*& pos droped out again and lost the lot hapens when you click on submit too late here now (0410) i'll do it today seeya

The disarmament of Australians was a long term program that started in 1984 (although Rebbeca Peters was sent to Oz in 1982). I only got involved in Feb 1988 when I gave a speech to 600 odd shooters at Young, NSW. Thereafter, I was a target of various intelligence agencies (although my Special Branch file was scrubbed before 1996 and allegedly doesn't exist). Here is an article I wrote about the political machinations that were going on. It will give you some background to the gun control movement in Oz.

SSAA - Gun Runner - gun control is not about Guns, it is about Control

Thank God some people smelled the rat...

Good to hear some haven't, in fact, given up their right to bear arms. :)

If half of the M1 Carbines are still out there, then awesome.

Same for the guys with SKS rifles...

the big problem here is the individualistic attitudes between all the shooting sports i have been involved with pistol shot gun and rifle clubs and they are all the same if something dose not directly affect them they say thats there proplem little do they no it catches up with them eventually there like little kids they won't realize untill it's too late( she'll be right mate give us a beer)

That's what I'm trying to get into the minds of others.

It may not affect them directly right away, but it will come around to haunt them.

Say, like the DC gun ban. Crime rates shot up. Murders notably so. All because criminals knew the people couldn't have guns legally, and thus basically were protected by law and allowed to go about doing whatever the hell they wanted...

And the thing is those that support all this stuff either are clueless, or worse yet, doing it on purpose...

CCW and Townsville during WWII

CCW permits exist here.

Over Half of the permits ever issued in Australia were issued in Townsville :)
The permits were never revoked but the owners are past on by now.

During WWII of duty US service men carried side arms in Townsville, A local police Sargent did not like the facts that The locals had to bring fists to a handgun fight every time there was a blow up at the pub. He thought it was bad enough that the local blokes were out numbered 20 to 1 so he made it his personal business to even up the scales and Issued hundreds of CCW permits.

Apparently it worked when some yank put his hand on the top of his side arm to indicate he might be prepared to use it the locals would open their jacket to show they had one too, the had was removed from the side arm and the argument was settled outside with the usual display of fistycuffs

yep hard to believe we can be bludgeoned too death in our own homes but hey everyone is safe coz the guns are all locked up in the safe

Check the firearm statistics in Australia and the lowest point of deaths by firearms was during WWII. Troops were carrying around all sorts of fully automatic hardware at the same time the kids were getting on trains with their .22s to go out rabbit shooting.

What is the old saying? "an armed society is a polite society"

it's too late the attitude and lack of basic intelligence of the young these days just look at our teachers it says it all give them (the young) fire arms today and i'm heading for the hills

You're right, the kids of today only see the violent movies and video games - and that is the image they carry for firearm usage. Only a small percentage grow up around firearms on a rural property where the firearm is a tool.

If the Lefties had a clue, they would be going after the issues that promote the violence. I refer in that article to the statistics on violence and when the majority of people are killed by being kicked, stomped and blugeoned to death, ya got a problem with violent personalities, not firearms.

Funny story, in my permaculture class was a woman my age that had taken part in all the anti-gun demonstrations. When her father died, she found four firearms her father had not registered and was wondering what to do. She knew about 9-11, so I gave her the articles on Port Arthur. After reading the articles, she really felt stupid about getting sucked up in all the propaganda.

I also gave her proper legal advice about what the gun laws were - I know that ultimately she made the 'correct decision'.

Who said it ?

This year will go down in history! For the first time a civilized nation has full gun registration! Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future!
