My 22/77 makes easy head shots to 50 plus but the scope adjust is now stuck at 24pwr, so not ideal.

So no running shots then at 24x? :D
I use the subsonic HP's now too. There really is nothing in it as far as range or hitting power goes. Just a bit more drop past about 70m and you're right about spooking the other rabbits etc.

I got a VX 3 4.5-14 on my bunny gun, tis great. Took awhile to hunt up the bargain price of under $500 fleabay but well worth the wait having to be sure tis not a knock off.

My no 1 has a not so good 24 pwr 56mm Nikko night-eater that's ok for now, as I'm not so good either, so we work well together blaming each other.

My other scopes are cheapy jobs, tasco and this odd brand knock off target thing that works but could be better happy enough good glass is pricey so i wait

Ah good my new cumputa works pictures as well, the old one died last weeks.

took me a long time to get what i got so i hear you on that

put your chronograph at 110 yards and you will get a surprise

Yeah I realise there is a big difference in velocity at that range for sure but every rabbit I've hit in the right spot at that range with either HV or subsonic .22 HP's rolls over as dead as a doornail and every rabbit poorly hit runs off regardless of the ammo :) On rabbits I have never noticed a difference in actual kill rate between both types of ammo, on foxes etc I certainly have. At least with the subsonics most of the energy stays in the rabbit instead of hitting the dirt behind it but you do have to know your range and drop.
I remember wailing into roos off a ute all night on the run with a .22 semi auto about 20 years ago (I know it's bad but the 12 guage ran out of ammo) and when I run out of HV ammo I reluctantly went to the subsonics. The subsonics dropped them just as quick as CCI Stingers - we were all surprised!

well ya heven't done it hey i'm with you win subs is all i use, at 110 they are the same speed and at 200 the sub is quicker because the hv is slowing down quicker try it

Hah hah sorry mate. I thought you were going to tell me the opposite. You'd be right on the velocity though as the old lead .22 projectile has got a BC like a house brick
I haven't been game to try a chrono with the .22 at 100m as I'll probably stuff up and punch a round through the front of it :D
What chrony have you got mate? I've got a Chrony F1, nice little simple unit but wouldn't have used it in about 4 years I reckon :(

same and just as accurate as the rich ones at one stage we 4 in a row all within 11%

Also guys if any other Aussies want to buy my 390XPG ported by Brad let me know. I'll offload it to another Aussie member for $1000 with a new 22" GB bar and chain if anybody is interested. Otherwise she'll be on eBay but I'd rather see it sold to somebody who'll use it and not a moron.

Sometimes I think I need to go onto a vacation to Aussieland...

The heated handles work a treat and if you turn them on they get too hot to hold without gloves. Good for drying out sweaty mitts.

Videos below before the small popup. It has a little bit more snap now. Hard decision to sell mate but I'd rather see it getting used. I have another modded 390XP that performs exactly the same plus a pop upped 7900 that is right there too. Al is also building another 7900 for me with a BB top end and 460BB piston with pin change. I reckon that saw when it's done will probably have more poke than these 390XP's in their current form.

Bloody Youtube embed code won't work the bastard :(

yeah i could do with a rest

I'll let you be my chauffeur. Bring your suit and tie and only answer me with "Yes sir". I'll just ignore "No Sir" :D

More piccys Darren...

Cracked alloy around the clutch band (like this when I got it). Doesn't effect the saw at all and really stands out in the photo. I think it may have been crowned at some stage as the tank has been changed...

9mm to 12mm spacers to adapt Stihl SN mount bars :) Damn Stihl users...

And the clutch side of the saw. Inboard clutched :D
