Sickies

I writing as the next dose of pain killer kicks in,, why because over 8 years in a gumnut muni LG job, I never yet taken one sickie day off.. True dinks I.d say it could be national record. I enjoy working and seem to only cop rare frigging colds/flu stuff on the weekends. I even raised 3 billy lids and not even needed to rig a day to help dear wife as she is tougher than me.

Readin the new last weeks about blugder Ozzies sickies I hope to claim some high ground.

'Stressed-out' workers taking more sickies - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

Last time I did take dodgy sick day was hmm,, about 1985 when a tip top dump of pre weekend snow had me calling work from Buxton Vic phone booth at 7am, forgive me I have sinned. Since then I canna recall any days taken off er wrongly myself and only had 3 days when I busted my eardrum due to infection n that was on a 4 year stint with Asplunda in 96, I still did the paper work from home just could not suffer hangin on saw. What say ye all,, I reckon most you blokes be on harder working side of the bell curve graph and just who are the sooks wrecking $ cost of employment and OZ working ethics .

Them poor US mob blokes will cry when they see we get 10 or 12 sick days (to take if need) a year and up to 4 weeks holiday leave in our basic work conditions.. I think they get 2 week and perhaps 5 days sick,, if that..

Sorry, but some do gooda bureaucrat gonna say them sweet timber stools dont meet some guideline or OHS code :bang:
Dead set I once had to cut down a good healthy tree in kinder yard so they could put up a shade sail... But why I asked? the tree gives great shade for the billy lids. No they say tree shade is not shade?? only shade sails are correct shade, go figure.

Oh no Mr or ms bureaucrat They are not furniture.
They are for looking at.
It is a dissection of tree stumps so that they may learn about wood.
You know growth rings, rays, heartwood, bark, xylem, phloem & cambium. :msp_tongue:

I work for an small impoverished county, in a giant bankrupt state and get 2 weeks sick leave, plus 3 weeks vacation with three extra emergency days. Next year when I got my 15 in, they give me another week vaca 4 more sick leave, it already builds up faster than I use it. Tough getting a day off, short on staff, 18 hours sittin' here is old fast. Over time is taxed bloody high, barely see an increase in the net figures. They should leave us little guys off the tax, what they take would cover the rattle can job on a cruise missile, but where would the welfare junkie get their fix? Should be a homeowner by years end, take a jab at getting some back.

Scare me up a cross flow head for the old Ford in-line, he needs a few extra beans. Send it over with CM76, he can drop it off on the way by.:msp_biggrin:

what version, Iron or alloy, carburettor or injected, turbo or naturally aspirated,144, 170, 200, or 250ci

maybe
250-2v head but with raised intake ports, high swirl combustion chambers, and larger valves. One of the features of the new head are pads cast into the top of the intake runners, which allows owners the ability to machine the head to accept modern electronic fuel injectors for direct port fuel injection.

THE decomposing body of a woman found in a Sydney tree last month has been identified as missing US tourist Melissa Joy Dietzel.
A Randwick Council arborist made the gruesome discovery of a woman’s body on January 12, after reports of a foul smell coming from the vicinity of the tree.

I can't imagine the shifting job descriptions on that incident. Let's see, the first cop on the scene checks it out, "not my job, call the detectives". The detectives defer to the coroner, who passes it on - until finally an ARBORIST gets the job of removing the body. ("no wucking furries mate, pass up my top-handle!")

HA :Dspat out ma tea n cake readin that,, tis a wee awfull to make hubris bout a sad case, but that's just how the scene would unfold.

Workin LG over the years i had me share of park finds. Mostly gas jobs in cars, sad but they more often look peaceful. A tree hangin, I been called to once but was not involved with the recovery phew from respectful distance it looked awful.

Good vid... I will do that to the piano in our basement if we can't sell the damn thing soon enough...

Hope we get rid of it before the 790 gets revived... otherwise, I'm turning it into firewood.
