matt i hope ya smith works quicker than mine :innocent: i'm having a semi custom built now and 3 months ago i was told should be done in 4 weeks :dumb2:

and i still haven't layed eyes on the new rifle i had sent to him

Mines pretty busy too. He'll normally do a rebarrel overnight but when I dropped the Ackley in to check the throat he didn't have the barrel profile I wanted. I'll call him this week to see if he's got one yet. Pretty sure he was looking at a Maddco. The other custom rifle I'm getting built will probably take 6 months or so but that's expected. There is a fair amount of work to do.

Wife wanted a round wooden doggy bed!!! Trying to bend 6mm marine ply wasn't as easy as I thought. Tried steaming but after two hours in the steamer I had like 15 seconds to form it. Took it out lit a ciggy and bang stopped being mailable. Now I've let it soak for a few days. Might fk the glues in the ply but it's only for the rat we call a dog lol. View attachment 431834

Bending 6mm ply is not going to be easy....why not bend 2 lots of 3mm ply or better still 4 lots of really thin ply, glue laminate it and voila, you have the same strength or better, it will hold its shape easier and not want to spring back and you can laminate a timber veneer on the finished product.....would be much easier...

if you need the durability of marine ply just use single thin sheets of a durable external grade timber with a high quality waterproof glue....same result.

Fancy dog bed I must say.

I would have said just get rid of the dog :)

Lol the dog rules the roost, I got it to help ward off "lets have kids" talk lol.
Thinking kids might have been cheaper lol

As for laminating thinner ply was thinking that but had this lying around so gave it a crack.

First you piss off the cat lover, now this.
I dunno matty.

On a side note - any chance you have access to archer products? Namely sprockets. Distributed by PMD international here in Aus.

No mate. Archer is the overseas arm of Jakmax run by one of the brothers (to the best of my knowledge). If you want anything from Archer just let me know and I can chase it up with Jakmax. Pretty sure it is nearly all available through each other.

I've emailed PMD, but basically just got a bit excited when I saw a standard spline 3/8lp sprocket. Fingers remain crossed for a small spline aswell.

I get excited about the saddest things....

And it's recognised as "THE" top fule MIX for the Australian OZITO RACING Org.com.afghanistan.cameleer chippy charmers//, this mix actually got one of their saws through three consecutive cuts in a heavy grained Radiata 150MM in under 6.43 minutes :numberone: (without seizing at a calibrated 5721rpm nearly to the wood !!! )

Seriously though, I'm surprised things like this are let into the public arena, patent pending I guess ?

how did you know i had adick on my head

Do you add oil to your fuel? I read on www.conspiracytheories.com that it's just propaganda from conglomerate oil companies to get us to buy oil. Because I read it there it must be factual and peer reviewed by scientists and smart people. Personally adding oil to fuel is akin to witchcraft. It's like antibiotics. Just a con buy big pharma :)

normally you bring it to the boil to dissolve it:confused:

There's no need to do that and it's perfectly safe....just try it with a small quantity first to see if it will set. Petroleum jelly here we go....

PS. If you want to boil it it's best and quickest to do it over a naked flame. If that's too scary a rice cooker works second best.

yeah was thinking pressure cooker actually:numberone:

I add oil cos my pappy did, and if it was good enough for him, it's good enough for me.
Y'all can tell me stories about your sciences all you like, but by the power of jebus, if you don't add oil to your fuel y'all go straight to hell's gate and maybe have a nice trip down the west coast of tas. A little fishing, some 4wding, some stout and oysters and.....
