Far out, what is it with ebay buyers and not paying for their stuff... the winning bidder of my 200T has been messing me around for the past week with "I will definitely send the money tomorrow". Finally they got back to me to say that they don't actually have the money to pay for it?!? Why the :censored: would they bid on it then...

Is it always this hard Wayne?

No, most people are ok but this guy has trouble making decisions, he's made 9 bid retractions in the last 12 months. Anyway he's now paid by bank transfer.
You bid you pay, nothing too complicated about that :smile2:

Here ya go sport some 223 rounds made em up last weekend & they flew Ok yesterday, the heavyer 65g sierra went better than I thought as some were to say nay no good to heavy for ma twist.

mmm, i think it best you send them up here, a test is nessessary for accurate assessment.
I have not used a 65 grain porjectile in my 223.
I'm still banging off the WOLF military classic ammo in 55grain sp, they have been very good and hit a bit harder than the winchester stuff i used before.

Hey Bob, I dont think your GT 1600 would blow the doors of a GTHO.....look at BHP/Tonne mate. But it does make a good story

The story is true acceleration to 60 mph was spot on but after that the HO got ya and that was running a final drive with 3.9 to 1 later i fitted 4.125 to 1 to really nail them

Dont knock till you had a ride in one plus the sound as those twin Webbers were sucking hard 40mm ones at that

Couldn't afford the gas gussling V8 too much money for me the 3200-00 bucks was bad enough and neally a grand a year to insure her

McBob.

Great little cars Bob, a treat to drive, especially considering it was really a shopping trolley, but all the little English Fords from that era drove well.

My pop bought a 1300 new in 1973 (from Sinclair Ford in Penrith, not too far from you at the time)
One of my cousins ended up with it, I would have loved the little thing as I had a heap of cast off Formula Ford stuff which use the 1600 GT engine and I could easily get 110HP at the flywheel out of one of those with the stock GT cam and DGV Weber. A better cam and twin Webers and bwahahahahaha.
Robert had coveted it since he was a kid so it was fitting he ended up with it, he did it up as a GT and still has it, it's in great condition.

BTW, a Twin Cam or BDA is worth a bomb these days, all the old Baby Boomers are trying to relive their youth

It was at Sinclair Ford i seen my first BDA in the workshop when i was getting my twin cam serviced i was attached to Penrith RAAF base doing a bit of guard duty and later at Lapstone hill at Op's command
same #### just a different place and time i got out of the RAAF IN 1974.

The only prob i had with the twin cam was keeping oil in it leaked like a sieve the BDA didn't fair any better as a road car either the poms didnt know how to build a oil tight engine.

Hi guys
The weather is crap wont stop raining,so what do you do some reloading i suppose.I have seen on here that some are into it so i was thinking i would share what i do.I reload for a few cals .17 ackley hornet,.243 and .270WSM.
My favorite combo for my .243 is Lapua brass,CCI Mag primers,Win 760 powder at 46 grains,Nosler 70 grain ballistic tips .010'' off the lands doing 3580 fps.Ideal for skippys, foxes but if your after skelps head shots are not recommended.:msp_ohmy:
I have been using this Lyman 1200DPS3 powder system for three years and its the bees knees as far as im concerned.

Agree the 65g shots twas outta the bargain bin. I more often use 55 pills but I've been load testing to see what goes well or not with my No1
So far learned little but tis fun trying & in time should get there.

Stihlman a nice set up mucha envy & rain here too told its gonna get wetter by avo.

We have had 38 mm last night and today.
With your No1 have you played with the forend pressure or is it free floated ?.This is the key area to make um shoot.

It was set up by previous owner who was a pro pest shooter so I not fiddled with forend yet. I have been stringing shots this weekend with 3 different pills 3 different case bands and 3 loads 24, 25 and 26 grains. Its was a try it and see job.

this was only at 75 yards as my little shooting range is now a muddy bog hole, all aimed at the centre x they 1st dropped low then climbed as I guess the barrel warmed up. My last shoot grouped much tighter no string with winny bulk box rounds so I'm puttin this down to my newbie reload skills, what say ye.

Fore end pressure going on there for sure, that is a perfect way to show it.
See if you can get a bit of paper between the for end tip and the barrel.
This allso happens when ya put a bypod on plastic type stocks.

44mm yesterday and today, and a frost is forecast for tonight as the clouds move off up the hills towards Neil.

Forecast for tomorrow is a top of 9* and progressively lower lows as the week goes on, so it's going to be awfully frigging cold up in the hills for you Neil.

The bloody combustion heater isn't working too well, it looks like a blocked flue (copious amounts of smoke as you open the door) so not much heat tonight either.

Check for magpies - we had one stuck in our chimney, lots of smoke...

Yeah, a friend warned me of birds and it could be, she had several smoked ones drop into her fireplace after smoking the house out, although I think it's the chamber above the firebox blocked with ash, the top part of the heater where the flue drops into/comes out of.

I didnt say it was a bad car, I actually think they are a great little car. 4 link the rear end and even better. But It wont leave a GTHO dead upto 100km/h. BTW GTHO were available with different final drive ratios, so if you got the right one you could be in trouble.

And yes the 221 was a ford 6, but it also was a Ford USA V8....

Thanks Rick, I don't know why I can't embed lately? :dizzy:

Maybe take her out for a nice meal, a bit of Barry White going on the wireless, some red wine and candles. You'll get her in bed soon mate, don't be so hard on yourself. We all go through droughts from time to time ;)

I've been pretty lucky with my eBay experiences. I did get a message from some flogger once saying my postage costs were too high and that "I know exactly what postage costs and you're ripping me off" blah blah blah. Considering the cylinder kit was actually "Free Postage" I sent quite an abusive message back. He then apologised saying that his message wasn't meant for me...

Nice set of scales mate and I always wanted something like that. I just use an RCBS Powder Thrower which tends to stick between +/- 0.2 of a grain which is good enough for me. The old AR2214 was a shocker though with up to a 0.8 grain variation. I always hand weighed that stuff.
Glad you're using the 70gn Ballistic Tips too. The 55gn .244" ones are lucky to get through a roo's fur without disintegrating :) Have had a number of very bad experiences with them.
I also agree with your Number 1 assessment above and vertical stringing is a classic for Number 1's or most rifles with a touching forend.
