I have this Carlton (Tecomec) grinder now and it has done hundreds of chains. Matt, which wheel do I need?

Ah, I don't know now, I forget. It is a little ripper though and sharpens cutters to the same length both sides without adjustment - something the cheapies cannot do.

What a Day

Got a call from a farmer on the weekend, asked me to clean up a fence line (about 1K) that backs onto a State forest,
I said ok i will head out there monday morning, about 15K out of town, it was a big paddock and the fenceing contractor had
done the side fence's last week,
so go out there and the gate to this paddock is open and I thought this is not good it should be closed so no stock can get into the
back paddock with the fence down, so over the hill I go and see lambs and ewes everywhere, I called the farmer to tell him and he said oh the fencing guys must have left it open, he said look drive them back will you, I am away today with the wife, I said are any of the dogs at the shed? he said no they are at home, (his house is 20K away)
so i rounded them up in the ute, got them all back through the gate and shut it in about 20min, so I was thinking good work:msp_smile:
I get back to the fence line and it starts raining hard, bugger,:msp_sad:
so I to go into the state forest to see if there were any trees the DSE had not been looking after:msp_biggrin: and right up the center of the forest i go and what do I find? about 12 ewes and lambs:msp_angry: so I call another farmer and said bring our dogs
over and help (he was 10 min away) he said no too wet,
so I went bush and about 1 hour later got them back:dizzy:
still raining so back into the forest I go and drive over to the other side ( its about 1800 Hec) just driving slow along the track and then I spot anther lamb:confused: where's yer mum? so get out in the rain looking all around, found it after 10min and it run off with a bit of a limp, so back to the ute and in to the bush we go smashing trees, stumps, rocks and all kinds of things, got the ewe after jumping out of the ute as I was going along, put her in the tralier (still had the 12x6 on!) so now for the lamb! it went flat out the other way! 2 hours later with smashed lights and one smashed mirror it hid behind a big tree so I cralled around the tree on my guts and grabbed its back leg!
took them back to the farm and called the farmer and said I was going home and he can look and find if there are any more himself,
I will get back to the fence tomorrow!
this is the little bugger on the way back!

Wow, sounds like you Aussies regularly beat the living piss out of your rigs.

On a side note, are there any Ford Rangers down under? If so, they have solid axles up front and a diesel engine, right?

i have been there before what i can't work out is the so-n-so that usually leave's the gate open should know better

We've been discussing the new Ranger in Stihlman's thread (he works for Ford)

The new Ranger (and Mazda equivalent) was designed here and is made in Thailand and sorry, it has an IFS.
The diesels are rippers, using European Ford engines.
The biggest one is a 3.2 litre 5 cylinder common rail unit and VNT with huge nuts and great economy for its capacity.

The only things left with a solid front axle that are sold here are Nissan's Patrol, Toyota's 79 and 76 Series work vehicles and Land Rover's Defender, oh, and the Wrangler.

It was drummed into me as four year old to leave the gate as you found it (and it's always the job of whoever is in the left front seat to open and close them, regardless of gender or social status :D )

It still blows me away to see people born and bred in the bush leave stock gates open around here. :(

on the rare occassion i get to go shooting on a largish property out west something around 70,000 acres, leaving a closed gate open there and you might as well look for another place
