Tracy and Zoe doing well. Zoe's about 5 months old now. Time flies!
Starting to roll over and do push ups etc. She's off to university next week.

This was a classic. Tracy heard her carrying on and she'd rolled over and got stuck against a supporting rod on her play mat...

A friend of ours had her birthday the other day so I set her up for a photo. She was more excited about the texta...

Also she's been kicking like crazy and has started to work her way out of her little bouncer thingy. She fell out the other day and landed on her head then started smiling. We thought she'd start screaming her head off...

scar from your surgery seems to have healed up nice

Zoe's looking good too.

Darren hows your boy doing?

I bought one of the metric Spencer tapes from bailey, had to order it twice to get it right
I was for a mate who has a Lucas mill.

Thanks Neil

Be good if we can find a supplier tho, them tapes don't last forever, the ones here are getting shorter each year (good thing to, the logs seem to be getting smaller, biggest one this past week was a 120x58 spotty, don't see them often, usually scratching around to find bed logs).
Will

Mate, i don't like your chances of a currant supplier, as i said before i havn't seen them used for years, in fact the more modern timber boys proberbly have never even heard of them.
The ones i own and used were stainless (i think) they were always shiny and never rusted and of coarse were left in the rain. they also wanted to kinda roll themselves up again, they never kinked themselves like a steel tape measure, they were indeed a very handy girthing tool.
Can i order a thousand 120x 58 spotty logs in quota of coarse, ok mix with a little salvage, i could do something with those.

Matt,,,, Memories, they can cut some capers for sure, when i look at my boys i sometimes forget how little and inocent they once were and how they changed my life forever.

Darren,,, hopefuly it will work out for the better mate, they can do some wonderful things these days.

gday all they took him of his drips this morning all meds can be tablets now.

they still won't send him back to b,dale hospital because they said these things can go

south real quick.

now the MRI on tuseday is to see how much scar tisue is in his hart as his troponin levels

only started to drop last night so he has had dying hart tisue for a week it's not good news

because he will have lost a percentage of hart function for the rest of his life hoping for 10%

or less

I suppose that is good news to some extent mate. Just means he probably won't make the 100m finals at the next Olympics ;) Hope the scan ends up OK.

looks like a real stihl but so dose Bobs

Until you get close. If you look at the 070 eBay ad you'll notice the following things...

- Dodgey bent bar cover - even though the OEM Stihl bar covers are crap the Chinese ones ooze even more crap.
- The crappy orange plastic tool pouch (common on all Chinese knock off saws regardless of brand).
- Poxy looking owner's manual in dated colours.
- 070 written on the box, not 070/MS720 as per ridgey didge Stihl saws.
- Hard nosed bar. The Chinese for some reason only seem to make hard nosed bars over 28".

Then if you actually bought it you'll find it is tuned super rich (as per all Chinese saws). You'll then try to lean it out just a bit to make more power only to run the risk of seizing it when the carby can't deliver enough fuel. Don't ask me how I know but I gave the Chinese 070 I had away for free. I wouldn't have been able to sleep if I'd have actually sold it :) It was crappy with a capital C.

I had a closer look at it and I can see the stuff you pointed out
no way Id buy a new saw if ebay

Funnily enough it's not guys like us that get stung. It's the average person who doesn't know better.
Even a mate of mine asked if I can get him an MS380 for $400. I said well no as they aren't made anymore. He said "well there's a guy on eBay selling new ones, how could you possibly go wrong?".
I had to tell him it would be a Chinese copy which was completely unbelievable to him. A lot of the innocent general public have absolutely no idea how sneaky these guys can be. I also can't believe how many times I've reported these fakes and yet nothing seems to get done. However when my Paypal account got hacked a few years ago they blocked any purchases within 30 minutes of me contacting them.
eBay are a pack of gutless wankers when it comes to fakes and as long as they are getting their fees that's all they care about.

Thats good advise Matt, for any un suspecting gentlmen or wives who beleive they are buying a genuine saw that has history or nostalgure like the 090 at a semingly very low price.
Personaly i have no interest in a copy of the 090, yes in their day they were widely used in logging and mill yards, real 090's not bloody copies.
Real 90's are still around if one knows where to look, i saw 2 last year when i inspected an old mill site which still had its machinery and work shop, 1 was complete and the other had bits missing but, also there were several 084's in diferent stages of dissrepair.

Sad but true Neil. It just doesn't click with some people that if it's too good to be true it probably is.
Personally I have absolutely no interest in old saws but did run a 7/10 Mculloch once that was an eye opener - engine power only though as the last thing I'd want to do is use one for felling all day.
Give me modern saws anyday.
Unless it's a Solo Twin - that and the Dolmar Wankel are the only older saws that I'd actually drop any significant pennies on. I have my eyes open all the time for older saws but only for other Aussie AS members, not myself.
Then again 200T's are an old model now yet I'd buy them by the truckload ;)

Let me know when you find that truckload :msp_wink:

Actually Rudy I have to talk to a large local almond orchard I used to consult for - I know the manager quite well. Very few locals even know what a 200T is, that alone their value. They had about a dozen or more 200T's in the shed that no longer ran. Probably straight gassed by workers with a sub special needs spec IQ.

Ok i know stihls, what does a 200T look like and how many cc's

That had better be a trick question Neil. I'll bring one up this week for you to play with. You may even have some wee dribble out due to their awesomeness. Don't stress though, it's not your prostate, it happens to the best of us when touching a 200T.

DISCLAIMER: A 200T "may not" be suitable for hardwood falling or docking big logs for the mill...
