Sad but true Neil. It just doesn't click with some people that if it's too good to be true it probably is.
Personally I have absolutely no interest in old saws but did run a 7/10 Mculloch once that was an eye opener - engine power only though as the last thing I'd want to do is use one for felling all day.
Give me modern saws anyday.
Unless it's a Solo Twin - that and the Dolmar Wankel are the only older saws that I'd actually drop any significant pennies on. I have my eyes open all the time for older saws but only for other Aussie AS members, not myself.
Then again 200T's are an old model now yet I'd buy them by the truckload ;)

Matt, you seemed to be interested in this old saw :D

Good point Wayne.

OK. Updated old saw list...

Solo Twin, Dolmar Wankel, AND Solo 655 ;)

That thing was a dead set noodle monster :D

As far as the Wankel goes I just love rotaries even though I've heard the Dolmar Wankels were a piece of snot.

That had better be a trick question Neil. I'll bring one up this week for you to play with.

Ohhh goody,,,,
chainsaws are like work mates 4x4's,you can always get your work mates vehicle to go in tougher places than your own.

Keep in mind that the 200T's awesomeness does stop somewhat short of a 36" bar and .404" Oregon full chisel.

Just in case you had any silly ideas.

I mean they'd run a 36" bar with .404" easily but you just can't get a bar mount to fit the 200T in that length...

All this 200T awesomeness talk reminded of your video felling a large tree with a 200T and all the dumba$$ comments you got on youtube :msp_sneaky:

They made me laugh though

Yup. Everybody is an uber legend on Youtube Rudy :D The typical brain surgeon on there obviously couldn't read the video description.

A Solo Twin is high on my list but I'm not that interested in the Wankel.
Matt, my ported 7900 is going great, I've adjusted it a tad leaner since when you had it, I recon it's spot on now

Nice work mate - that saw sounds familiar :) Let me guess, your wife is getting chopping boards for Christmas?

So if that chinese copy 070 goes real real cheap its not even worth buying??
Put the chinese carb in the bin and buy a new real deal for it???
Maybe even swap the rings out for some good ones??

Are chinese bearings getting better??

For an on the odd occasion milling saw.

MCW, If you can crack into that stash of dead 200T's. Id have a good hard think about layin down some hard earned on one if there was one on offer.
Would be a good little project to rebuild over the summer.

Cheers.

Hey if you can get one cheap by all means grab one. As far as a milling saw goes though they don't have as much grunt as people think, even the original Stihls.
Don't let the cc's fool you.

If I can get my grubby mitts on them they'll all be getting fully rebuilt and hidden in the cupboard :)

076 is decent, refueling mid way threw a cut can be a #####h. can always fabricate a angled fuel filler pipe or just fill up to just under the filler hole

Shattered. lol.

It depends on your bar length mate. No flies on an 051.

Going to start out with a 42" hard nose.

Just having a play for now.

Thinking of setting up an Aux fuel tank.
Or might do something with permanant elbows for the tanks.

I was looking at that pile of junk on ebay in tas.
Something to play about with.

And the NOS cases. So so tempted.

076 is decent

I figured more is better.
Something to shoot for.
