Nice one WM on the 090AV. Hope you have some fun with the big old girl. A number of 090's have surfaced lately on the auction sites - glad you were able to pick this one up. It was only up the hill from me in the 'Gong.
Regards,
Chris.

thanks mate, she'll be well looked after, couldn't be happier! always seems to be a few around Xmas, luckily i found one that's not damaged or ex council abused. A little birdy also told me there's a 090 never used, as New, floating around our area. :msp_wink: still with plastic wrap.

Very nice! would you like a new "Stihl made Germany" badge for her starter?

do bells hang on Xmas trees? lol ...would love one mate,

I did get wind of that one - my colleague came across the same info you ran into by the sound of it. Luckily I am into the two man machines, otherwise you would have stiff comp on that one!

PM me your details and i'll send it on to you, and it is new, still has plastic cover on it.:msp_wink:

It's taken me 2 years to find a 090 that i could afford, you obviously put a lot of time and $$ into that line up.Well done!

That is true Phil. Many hours are spent looking for saws which are hard to find. All of those Stihl saws you see in the photo have been sold / traded for two man machines. The new 090G ended up back in the USA.
I enjoy the big Stihl units however the beltdrive / geardrive Homelite saws are my thing when it comes to the single man machines.

Regards,

Chris.

local husky dealer, has been forced by safety officials to only sell safety chain of the roll as of recently, apparently he cant sell Non-Safety chain to chainsaw operators in the workplace, seems the council and most other chainsaw work related businesses need to supply safety chain to there employees. lol what bullchit OHS

He can supply me with Non-safety chain by the roll if ordered in by me, but they only stock safety from now on .. damn the nanny state is in full swing.

Why don't they just remove all the cutters on the chains and make every OHS pencil pusher happy :msp_sneaky:

When will it ever stop aye...

Wait till that rule is applied to the race scene in that all chains cannot be modified for insurance reasons

yep its BS ... probably in 5 years, maybe sooner the only way you'll get regular Non safety chain will be from our own personal stock, of what we purchase/order in rolls today.

Buy it up boys, it might be a thing of the past sooner than we think!

have to wonder for the generations to come. there gonna be a bunch of pansy arses all wearing justine beiber attire, and have cotton tipped chain for there plastic saws ....O my them real saws are heavy and have sharp bits, :msp_scared:

Is this a guberment thing or an insurence related? Might need a license in the near future to buy chain :msp_angry:

mainly for business insurance related matters but I'm shore there's a hidden agenda from the polly's somewhere in fine print, isn't there always? lol what the husky dealer was saying, he had pressure from his agency's who ever they may be, as did local businesses (council, tree lopping industry.. etc etc) that employ people to use chainsaws, his way of explaining it was that employers had to give there employees the safest option in the work place, which in there mind a safety chain is safer for the employee, ...and by giving safety chains to employees, there basically following whoever has stated its safety chains across the board for employee's

well I know i wont be getting any Non-safety chain from him, he doesn't stock it anymore.
