nice find of 090's ,Mmmm wonder if he'll do a trade. lol ....would be nice collection of parts/spares to go with me other 090

I think you need some more 090's :msp_wink: and you would get you money back by selling 2 saws.

mate id be happy to have a few more, more than happy just having the one i already got. if my saw funds where back up out of the red from last purchase, and I lived closer id be looking at it foreshore!!!! I guess it would be a pick-up only deal with that much weight... maybe he wants a 3120? lol. maybe one of you guys will get it, and swing me a deal on one of the 090's or parts to make some cash back?

The CR hondas are a race engine and you can budget $1700.00 for a top end rebuild every 50 hours of riding.

If I'm not mistaken David the newer CRF450 Hondas are a similar engine design to the WR450's or am I wrong? Just wondering if you are referring to the 2 stroke CR's or the 4 stroke CRF's? From what I remember the WR's and YZF's are/were running the same specced donk so thought they'd have similar rebuild times to the Honda CRF's.
The WR400's are a great bike - I have a 1998 WR400 under my carport at the moment with the rear swingarm removed. Belongs to my brother. A mate of mine stacked his WR400 a few months back in a wheat paddock pulling about 150kph and was knocked out and pis*ing blood with bruised kidneys for a few weeks :) Silly buggar! Apart from having to realign the handlebars the bike was undamaged but he still seems to think he can ride like an 18 year Nitro Circus guy.
The last 2 wheeled dirt bike I rode was a heavily modified KX500 about 10 years ago. I realised that if I owned a bike anywhere even close to that amount of poke I'd be dead/paralysed/comatose/spoon fed etc etc so stick to 4 wheels now. Dad's old Yamaha 100cc ag bike that I used to ride really doesn't hold a candle to this modern stuff and my bike handling skills are nowhere near as good as I thought they were :D

bikes spent part of today with work mate who hit a truck 3 weeks back he can hardly wipe his own ass as both arms badly snapped 7 ribs neck brace etc bad but will recover in time. He & I wus looking at bikes at vintage factory Classic Style - The Old Classic Motorcycle Warehouse heaps of good gear but I'm just not getting the vibe no more.. I used to ride and own many have family history but meh,, it may come back but I'm not feelin the passion. Life after kids its said u yer loose % the thrill of winding it up n leaning into blind bend. I dunno even what I'd buy flip flop from Harley to honda road to trail,,, help needed sad ol man thinkin aloud :msp_tongue:

Had a Kwaka KX500 way back when. 86' with the power valves, a/m 13 litre tank upside forks etc. Fastest dirt bike at the time. Was brought out from the States by a fella who had two major get offs in the 3 hr total time he rode it, lol! Now that was a buy!

Now fella's, "If it aint orange, it's a lemon" Gooo the Ktoom 500 ISDE!

Probably not recommended for the young fella's first rode goer tho.

Mat my WR 400 is a 12/1999
I have some yz parts for it :)
Road tyres sand tyres trials tyres

CRF 450 have a more highly stressed engine less skirt on the piston
The cams are driven by a can chain drive and gear drive hybrid system
Lighter materials smaller journals

Thanks for filling me in David. I thought the road registered versions of the CRF450 had a lower output engine than the race versions but may be wrong whereas the WR/YZF's are similar. No way I'd buy a bike that needs a top end rebuild after 50 hours - stuff that!
Neil's lad would put 50 hours on one in half a day I reckon ;)

Sounds like a duel with my MS 720 is in order! That would mean taking it out of the box though...

I'd give it a crack. Remember that the 7900's oiler struggles above a 32" bar though :)
Remember that Wayne's Dolmar has a ported 7900 top end though so when I said his 80cc saws would give an 070 a hiding I still stand by that. Nice saws, particularly REAL ones ;) but anybody that I've spoken to who has run a whole range of saws has never said the 070's are graced with performance.
They're like the old Chrysler wagon of the chainsaw world. Tough and dependable but nobody drives them anymore plus they handle like crap. OK to drive to lawn bowls on the weekend to impress the oldies but that's about it :poke:

all this talk about bikes, look at this rip snorter.
