Oh and remember to look up ;)

Also if you have a really quick cutting saw you can bypass cut 3 and just rip it straight out the back from cut 2.

talking about snakes, its a awesome sight seeing a old red belly killing & devouring a King brown, yep Mr red belly is a mean bastard who protects his territory furiously towards other snakes, if your got red bellys around they will keep the browns away! kill of all the reds and the browns will move in, who would of thought the old red belly is actually the king between the two.

The only Red Bellies we have around here is fat backpackers who think they can sunbake in our summers (actually a few have ended up seriously ill after thinking our sun is as nice as it is in Europe :D).

Well lets be honest Neil. When I came to visit every single saw you owned had evidence of a Kennard's Hire sticker that had just been scratched off and you were flat out handling my 200T. When I said I was coming to visit I bet you shat yourself trying to cover your internet legend trail - from what Will told me you offered to hire his race saws for the few days I was there just so I'd assume you did actually race at some stage...
In fact I'm not even sure that it was your mill :D
I'm even wondering if you were simply just squatting in some poor old hobby farmer's little hut while he was interstate?

I spoke off a Arbor camp that a Vic industry puts together usually in March VTIO say its planning to be on and will be in new site at Gembrook Vic I put to them saw racing as idea thou needs to go to a committee etc etc I'll update when more known but could be possible for GTG
It more often a good bunch of tree blokes n family weekend camping and well attended

Ta sport my trouble is I'd like to drop it a smidge away from its natural lean as it fouled in tree beside and will get even more so if goes that away. Thats why I'll head rope it 4x4 pull from side so the scarf n bore strap cut gonna be a trick as weight or tension woods all wrong.
Anyhoo I'll take good care not be around when it goes one way or other .

Just get the pole saw out and stand well clear :msp_wink:

a wee tricky drop require some thinkin, well its not that bad as plenty of places to run and nuthin to harm if goes wrong but I'd like to git it over with out drama.
Its one with the lot bent over hard suspect broken or weakend half ways up and its hooked gently into another tree canopy
via its top limbs outta picture

oh have to turn yer head a wee left to be on level ground

gee looks bigger than the pictures about 45 to 55 foot high a smige under 3 foot through but its solid at cutting point and I'll head rope it with throw bag line then pull up a good tag line hooked to 4x4 ensure going over not fouled up top use me warmed 310 18inch bar to be fast tight scaff and on the back bore cut to strap release avoid a slabin out issue give me postion to not be under it anyhoo the rope should allow to pull it while I'm safe away.

I'd slab it just for the noise in it.

That snake killer was a rescue, found him being kicked by his former owner, who I asked if he wanted a bit of that. I tried to ditch that dog on my Dad, but couldn't get him to stay there, so he followed me to his demise.

ha :msp_wink: thats the way dont over think it just spank it its going down just hoping not to take other trees nearby

Bigger Rope + Bigger Vehicle + Faster Speed = No Chainsaw Needed.

I love my Number 1. It is a 45/70, weighs a bare 7lbs and will punch these 420 gn hard cast slugs out at 1900 plus fps with remarkable accuracy. The toughest part is trying to keep it from jumping put of your hands. Who needs a .458 mag?

Years ago I owned a 22 hornet in a CBC single shot, set up simular to yours, it was the bees nees for bunnies, oh and bigger things as well. Something about the single shot rifle, i traded it in on my ruger model 77 stainless in 223 and sometimes wish i kept the single.
I could use that 45/70 here, my biggest is my old no 4 and it don't look near as nice as those no 1's.

Just fill the case up to the top with a medium fast powder, crimp the big slug down tight, fire it all up with a magnum pimer and hold on!

Sir, that is one of the sweetest No 1's I have seen for many a day. I shot foxes with a Martini Ackley hornet for around 20 years. With a #5 Shillen barrel and an old 7.5 X Leupold it shot so well it paid for itself many times over. I hope you have the bedding sorted out on your No 1. If you are having accuracy woes (and that gun should shoot 0.5MOA or less) drop me a line. Spent many hours tuning Ruger #1's over the years.

Yep that what it was built for foxes in the old days they were a good money thing, the barrel is a Shillen cant remember what # profile it is.The scope is a Leupold fixed 12 power and the mounts i made from stainless couldnt get anything to fit a custom barrel.
It shoots very well with the 20 grain v maxes.
