I had a snake killing dog once, he met his match one day and got fanged in the neck by a 5 foot Timber Rattler. He expired shortly after killing that snake.

heads up there's a bodgy roll of stihl chain on fleebay pree sets don't come in a clear bag

You know guys, my father used to say: "for every snake you see, there are seven you don't". Last summer season, I had more snakes around my house then I'd seen in the past 10 years of living here. I have only seen a couple this season so far, had to relocate one 5 foot red belly and the dog got a 4 foot red belly last week. Bloody dog, had it to the vets only 4/5 months ago for snake bit. Red belly that she dug out of the garden somewhere. $1500 thank you very much.
i hear you mate my little red cattle x got hit twice last summer

thanks Darren, once bit twice shy, excuse the pun.

You have got to wonder though (with my dog) last summer it killed a 6 foot red belly in the blazing heat. The snake would have been fast and furious I'd reckon and then a small snake in the middle of winter near kills her. I know she will meet her match one day. And yes she will be sorely missed. She is only a bitser (bitser of this and a bitser of that) her father was a pure bread Boxer, mother a half Kelpie / Half American Pit bull. Her nature is the best I have seen in a dog. She just has to be with you 24/7 if she could and very protective.

Heres mine but he's a poor tied thing

Neil, I just watched the video.. your 090 might be old but It's no slug! :)

thanks wayne,,,
yea that old saw still makes some noise, that is after if snaps back 2 or 3 times just to warn the starter that it has been played with. It used to have a pipe fitted but some mungrel pinched it and bolted it on a 3120, then he became bloody hard to beat in that class. I can't name him on this open thread as the Big Fella may not want to be named.

been away all weekend doing the 6 and 7 day week thing with my eldest son.

had many a great dog in ma time but the 2 i got now n don't git me wrong I care for em but they are more or less useless bits of fur no good for huntin home protection not even good company. Sure they enjoy and I do taking em for a walks but their loyalty is with mum not me and they are dumb as scared of or preoccupied with sleeping and hiding under mums skirt. One is part lab kelipe but got all the poor bits 1st the other a wandering little pound mutt if he's not pissing off he's hiding from imaginary things about the house. Reckon my cats got more brains n courage then both of em

No ill wish but soon as they shuffle off I'm getting a new mutt that knows its place earns its keep and will git my luv n respect chase a rabbit with me n protect the home.

Sumthin like dear ol long gone Holly was she n i had many great day out bailin up fox n bunny n if home left she'd keep it safe n secure.

Our old lab has gone now but she was a wonderful and versatile dog. From ducks to deer Nell would have a go at everything. Boy, she is missed.

a wee tricky drop require some thinkin, well its not that bad as plenty of places to run and nuthin to harm if goes wrong but I'd like to git it over with out drama.

gee looks bigger than the pictures about 45 to 55 foot high a smige under 3 foot through but its solid at cutting point and I'll head rope it with throw bag line then pull up a good tag line hooked to 4x4 ensure going over not fouled up top use me warmed 310 18inch bar to be fast tight scaff and on the back bore cut to strap release avoid a slabin out issue give me postion to not be under it anyhoo the rope should allow to pull it while I'm safe away.

so what could possibly go wrong :msp_sneaky:

Ran over about a 6 foot Brown the other day on the road. Haven't seen any around our house yet but I know they're about.
talking about snakes, its a awesome sight seeing a old red belly killing & devouring a King brown, yep Mr red belly is a mean bastard who protects his territory furiously towards other snakes, if your got red bellys around they will keep the browns away! kill of all the reds and the browns will move in, who would of thought the old red belly is actually the king between the two.
