over heard the conversation the local Doctor was having with the local butcher when i was buying some meat, He was talking about Fat over weight Aussie men, he was saying 2 out of 3 Men cant see there Penis due to there large Bellys... ..I just started grinning to my self and mentioned to the Doc, 'Well Doc I don't see the problem, I don't need to see me penis, I know its there! I'm tripping over it all the time' :D

Yesterday I was up in Aussie Al's territory and the main street of Beechworth was melting - never seen that before. Hot here today - I have been playing around with old saws but by 3.00pm it got too hot, even with the big double doors slid back. The thermometer over my bench got as high as I have ever seen it. Think I need a beer.

Just wondering how accurate that temp there is given that the thermometer is leaning up against a steel sheet shed
I know how hot roofs can get up here screwing them off.
Did a mates large carport a coulpe of months ago in the build up.
Very hot up there but finished the job off
Cheers Wayne

You are dead right Wayne. Temperature under the verandah on the cool side of the house was 42 degrees at the same time - same as the local weather guys are reporting. The thermometer is on a heavy steel RSJ but I am guessing the ambient temp in the shed is pretty much that. Anyone want to come a try it tomorrow? :msp_biggrin:

I spoke to the Mud Engineer the other day ( mud doctor ) is what we call them for all our down hole chemicals
He confirmed that Bentonite is your cheapest option as he said the polymers are very expensive ang generally Bentonite will work almost as good given the cost factor.
We drill holes into the seabed up to 5 km deep. Sonetimes the mud birng pumped down hole will be lost to the formation.
They have all sort of tricks from using ground up coconut shells to weighing the mud heavier with other additives to keep gas from rising up.
I remember Apache in 2005 lost $900,000.00 dollard worth of oil base mud to the formation below. It just seeped in and was gone which causes a lot of well control problems as you have nothing to help pump out cuttings and nothing to help keep any kick ( gas rising up ) from occouring
So far on this well off Bass Straight, Origin has spent around 500 million, I think that is with the subsea pipeline.
I was told they will recoup the money in 7 years.
We will be flaring off the well tomorrow morning for 5 days, getting it ready for production when they hook up the subsea pipeline.
Anyway I am off tomorrow so that is an even better thing.
Enough of my rant. Hope the dam gets sorted out for you
Cheers Wayne
