Yeah mate, I really feel for all the people and all the animals, stock and bush including.
It happens but is not good.
I have had a few cyclones up here, masive trees down, storm damage and all.
A hell of a lot of clean up work.
Reminds me of the Brissie floods, it is not till you go through some hardship , that you ever realise what others are going through.
We have donated through those hard times for all those people affected .
I guess some city folk dont really understand what the reagional hub of Australia has to deal with just to deliver their produce to them.
All the best mate

thanks mate. defently not for the faint hearted the game, done a few years with the SES and got my self accredited early 00's doing Road Crash Rescue, seen more than enough body bags lots of severed stuff, especially testing them crashes when your gotta locate a decapitated body part from the paddock. but when you see the destruction of a uncontrolled bushfire its literally like walking into hell. shame some of the city folk never do get to see first hand what mother nature is capable of from there terrace houses, they can only see an imagine the terror we endure through a plasma on the 6oclock.

anyway off to see the wizard boys, catch some Z's.
cheers

thanks your efforts lad.

tis a worry,, i been wandering though bush western districts this and east gippy to east highlands last weekends its bone dry with high heavy dead grass over the forest floor. With no rain on the way and fires already burning next 2 weeks a real concern if wind blows or a spark touches off a car exhaust .... we need a monsoon low to drop on down to southern lands.

I'm knackered was climbing all Sat & driving all today. We put up 4 owl boxes will post pictures when the film back from the chemist.

Found this on face book, posted by Normzilla, I'm trying to emagine signs like this in oz.
The anty gun lobby won't like it or julia for that matter, but i think its to the point.

was told today that I had to cut some trees as they hindered safer helicopter flight path.

Me Ok sure but what about them chimneys that are taller and closer than any of them trees???
A. er um well er um not in flight path & they can not be cut down as easy...

Me Ok then what about the wind soc mounted on a 10 m solid steel pole less than 15 m edge of rotor tip??

A. er um well ah ....

Lastly me the past 25 years the chopper been landing below all these tree top line on a grassy knoll so why now you built a 4 story new pad are they an issue.

A. um er ah ?????

Me Ok when you guys figure out an answer that's even loosely based on any need or logic git on back & i'll sox any or all the trees for yer no worries I not going to put any one at remote risk.

yep thats the critter, I not seen one yet & boxes we put up 2 years back only got boobook owl & possums when I checked last thou a mating powerful pair nearby. The weekend site has got mating pairs near as well the idea is the box's allow opportunity for ongoing breeding as they need real big hollows to do that and not many old growth trees left around them parts.

I'm just the grunt on rope the big thinking done by a bloke with great wisdom on these matters

there contained for now, still being monitored closely and patrolled with some back burning going on, containment lines being widened for the next wave of heat predicted latter in the week, still have a month of summer to go, & very dry so we could see a breach of containment lines? take it day by day mate, the way the weather patterns are becoming nothings certain until we get some serious rain.

You sure you aint puttin them boxes up so your missus has something to aim / practice at ???

Kinda like the yanks with the corn feeders all winter for the deer and shooting them from a tree hide and then telling you how much of a hunter they are ???

Had my new 550XP arrive today. Stuck a 20" bar on it with 3/8" RSC and holy hell! This thing has throttle response rivaling a 200T and pulls like a train.
Impressed is an understatement. Rev Boost is awesome.
Crap filter though. When will Husky learn? I mean it ain't that bloody hard...

Me too:) All the hype on AS about this saw is true. You'd honestly think it's been ported the way it runs. I was already an M-Tronic convert but this is something else. I have no doubt that the Husky 543XP will flog the arse off the MS241C if it comes setup like the 550. The jury still looks to be out on the 543's though. Came with a poxy mesh filter so will have to chase a flocked setup somewhere.

I had to be my own Santa sadly. I did sell my Husky 353 so those funds went straight into this saw.

Yeah I was thinking about getting one too, but those filters put me off a bit. Wish husqvarna would get the hint. I went with a 261 instead so we'll see how it runs.

How did you find the filtering on the 353?
