Must be a bloody slow outrigger ONLY TAKEN 4 FOUR LONG YEARS TO ARRIVE FROM CIRCUMNAVIGATING THE GLODE A LEAST A DOZEN TIMES a package of old servicing film from McCulloch in the early sixties arrived this morning from my importer after i purchased it from a woman in Sydney who being a teacher must have not been able to read and addressed it to America to my importer in LA in 2008.

The package also had a 33 1/3 rpm record it it along with 3 rolls of film as a slide show presentation so i must get it all into digtal format for preseavation

If it's what you really want then it may pay to befriend one of the US members here and get them to buy it for you in the states and post it out.
They really are a nice looking and well made unit those things but I can't help but think a decent grinder will be more valuable as you can chop and change angles to suit yourself plus grind depth guages.

Thanks, I think it will be ok for my intermittent use and getting my chains all consistent which I have struggled with using files. I dont mind using the file 0 plate for depth gauge or I will buy another gauge.

If you want to do real precision hand filing I would recommend the Stihl FG2. Quality tool as you would expect and flexible with different angles, etc.

Ordered a FG2 this week from the Stihl dealer in Burnie for $220.

How does that work? They are paying about $170+ tax in the US and it's $200 + GST.
Someone must have forgotten to double the price at Stuhl Aus.

Got a few chains to test it on too... Husky chisel, carlton semi, Oregon semi. All 84DL 3/8.

I think someone made a mistake at Stihl AU, but don't don't tell them that...

Off topic here, but worth mentioning I think: 118cm Murray Cod caught the other day by my brother in St George, Qld. Took about 20 min to get it landed, but worth the effort. A few quick pics before it was released to fight another day.

Lovely fish, and i nice area St George, i have seen that river in flood.

I thought the cod in northern NSW and southern QLD were eastern cod, i stand corrected.

You are right Neil in saying that there are what they call the Eastern Cod (a different species derived from the Murray Cod up North. I am no expert on fishing or fish species, but having read a little on the subject - the Eastern Cod seems to be alot rarer and harder to find. The range of the MC encompasses the St George region so I can only assume it is a Murray Cod.

Maybe some of the fisho's on here can verify ?

Regards,

Chris.
