Can't recall if I have any chipper chain or not ???
I'll check through the loops in the morning. I know Matt and I discussed this a long time ago but i just can't remember if I ordered any or not.

The 404 suggestion by Rudi is a good one.
Matt swears by it and I'm thinking I should get some, at least for the 3120, but that means more bars, chain.....

Everything I cut has a bloody termite chimney up the guts and nothing I've used is head and shoulders above anything else.
Surprisingly Stihl full chisel was lasting as well as my semi chisel in really dirty stuff, just did the cuts a hell of a lot faster so go figure :dizzy:

I've found semi all lasts about the same in the crap I cut (Carlton, Oregon, Windsor, Stihl. Yeah, I have a bit of chain ) but some find their Stihl RMC lasts a little longer.
I tend to file fairly aggressive angles/hook which may account for that.

I remember you were cutting railway sleepers with chipper chain or maybe you had planned on doing so.

Memory like a colander ATM........

I think I might have tried some, the loops will be in the shed.
All I know is that whatever I used lasted about the same number of cuts with the sleepers, including the Stihl RSC, it's just that the RSC did it a bucket load quicker.

MotoGP qualifying on in an hour on One.

Been watching a streaming feed of practice on the 'puter over the last hour and a bit. A few crashes in Moto 2.
Marquez ids ****** quick. :msp_ohmy:

As you blokes have stated. There probably isn't anything that performs and lasts far better than other chain configurations.
I am planning to buld an attachment to go on an excavator. To run a tungsten tipped blade. I like the idea of sitting on my bum listening to the radio, whilst blocking wood.
Then I'll have to buy an excavator... Just keep spendi
ng.

Not watching Eurovision :confused2: some of those Europeans are quite talented and stuff...

Oh and I came across this before - skidder operator in training? He's got some skills

Matt's run tungsten too.

Wasn't super fast, about the same as semi-dull semi IIRC but kept on going, until you hit something solid and it took a tooth or three out.
Diamond wheels to sharpen aren't cheap either.

Damn, forgot.

Usually have a mini Eurovision party.

Just found out that Tree World has been canned as E k k a is having his arse sued for slander or somesuch.

There's a thread on another forum, sounds like the silly coot has really lost it, paranoia has set in and was banning everyone including mods/mates who disagreed with something privately.

Wow, I guess we saw the light at the right time. The bias views on that site were rather obvious...

I haven't been back since Matt was canned and I was read the riot act and threatened with banning.
I said Kenjax earlier but it was Kenskip1 that was banned over the same 'incident'.

It was interesting reading over on tree buzz about what went down.
Unfortunately a lot of good arborist stuff has been lost.

If you had to pick which one and why,in 20'' 3/8 .063 Stihl mount.
Stihl ES
GB Ti or Pro Top
Tsumura

Depends. The tsumura has the greatest versatility can be either .325, 3/8 or .404 with the change of a nose. GB .325&3/8 but the .404 bar is different and ES .325 on its own and 3/8,.404 are interchangeable. The ES have a 13 tooth 3/8 tip where as the tsumura is an 11 I think, an not sure on GB, defiantly smaller makes me think the bearing would be then bigger in the ES and possibly last longer but the ES noses are the most expensive off the lot so it's a 6 / half doz the other. Just got my 16" tsumura so ill have to try it out on the 026

Wow, i never knew Tree World closed down, went and checked and sure enough.
I lost interest after sawchain got barred and i remember stihlman 441 saying he didnt want to have to sign in in your own name.
You had to have a seperate email account from your normal one which was the pincer for me as it is bad enough checking one rather than 2 or more etc.
There was some good info on there , but it is all gone now unless it ever re-surfaces
Eric was a pr#ck though. He deserves it

The new(er) Tsumura noses use a larger bearing than previous versions.
The new ones use a 4 rivet bearing vs the 5 rivet of the older version so you can distinguish it.

The other thing I like about Tsumura's in 325 and 3/8 chain is the gauge specific nose, so less wobbling around if you use 050 or 058 chain.
