Apple is over ratted, trust me. I have just got a new iMac...dont ask why! There are more probems with their latest system. Their disk drive (which is now external) has flaws.....

I would buy a phone with a removable battery, not becuase a hammer doesnt work, but sometimes these delicate little things decide to freeze. Nothing will unfreeze them, except loss of power. Now either wait for it to go dead flat or simply remove the battery and restart.

Apple is very controlling of there options in settings etc.

Re battery life, turn off wifi when you can and turn down screen brightness if you can. You also need to kill apps manually on some of them, as simply closing or going back to menu doesnt shut them down.

Recharge battery while phone is off if possible and do charges every day if need be. Li-ion do not need to be run down or fully charged up, in fact you will get better battery life if neither of these are done. BTW battery life is not the same as run time.

On another note, does anyone here have vintage JBL speakers?

Did Baileys stuff up your postage costs? Gee, who would have thunk it. Only dealt with them 4 times and they ballsed it up 3 of those.

They claimed to, but after much haggling, and the other issue, they didnt increase the cost on me :msp_wink:

I don't think there's much that I need from them now.... Once I get a stocktake finished I need some bits that you can set me up with I reckon, and one thing I forgot from baileys that is quite cheap at the Aus logrite store.

And then I just need to pull lots of loads of wood.

Hey message him again and ask which association his saws are racing in and who is running them. Please :)

Perhaps he is working for one or more of these fine gentleman, can anyone guess any of these guys.

Serg said to me a few weeks back that the secret with Baileys was to go through Gregg and get him to quote it via the Baileys forum here as he then kept an eye on it.

Not so much a secret or trick, I just found it easy to go through the Baileys forum here as I was already on here alot.

My orders would go something like this:

Start a thread in the Bailey's section, ask a few Q's re part numbers.
While waiting I would be doing more research and then have more Q's. Q's like AM or OEM and availability as I was dealing with older 2 series saws.
When I had the info and deceided what I needed, I would PM Gregg for the final quote and shipping.
He would sort an order/quote number and then get me to Paypal a Baileys address (which would eliminate any acidental double charging, but mainly because they couldnt get my CC to work.)

I have done atleast 6-8 orders with Baileys. The last one was the only time I had any trouble, and to put that into context, it was an order for over 100 individual small parts and some bigger stuff. They got one small part wrong, 1 small part should have been 2 not 1 and the bar I ordered came painted and not clear coat like their site picture. I contacted Gregg and he made it more than right very quickly.

I would not hesitate to use them again. But I do understand that if you have problems with any supplier it is hard to go back or recommend them.

Oh and re the Phone thing, I recommend a Otter Box defender series case. Im a tradie and drop my phone etc and it is still going and looking good.

Well here's my responce I first got from baileys and the second quote

Super high shipping costs

Good Morning,

Thank you for placing an order with us here at Bailey's.

In order for us to ship your order to you, the shipping amount will be $517.62 via UPS World Wide Expedite.

Please send the shipping amount to [email protected] by Pay Pal.

Once she receives it, we can continue to process your order.

Thank you again,

Dee

Goodness me i ordered a clutch, a clutch sidecover and a front handle for a 3120 not a forty ft container

Bob Cornwell

............................................................

Howdy,
I would guestimate that the shipping should have been somewhere around $75-$100.
I'll find out what happened.
Regards
Gregg

..........................................................
I just recieved a second quote from you fellas $154-00 ............. man i'm applying for a job as a courier

Well Gregg

I have just had a reasonably complete Husqvarna 3120 sent to me from the states California in fact it cost me $124-00 including insurance and tracking to my front door

It was sent using UPS United States Postal Service and arrived within 10 days and that was 2 weeks ago.

Bob.

.................................................................

Howdy,
Well, I had to make another call to find out what is going on. Apparently we've been having way too many packages showing up missing when we've been shipping by EMI. So the word I've gotten is that everything international is going to ship by UPS.
Regards
Gregg

......................................................................

Thanks Gregg ............. your the man for this job i can see the prices on the items i wish to purchase are really good and i appreciate your doing the best you can hope these comments lead to more sales not only for myself but the rest of your customers as well

Bob.

......................................................................

Bob.

.........................................................................

I ordered a square filing jig quite sometime back and when it arrived here in a rather large box big enough to pack to pack the rear end of a bull in what really got me was the fact the shipping was added after the sale as i paid using paypal and got slugged with no way out ............. sorry but for this little black duck there will be no third time ............. sorry Gregg

Bob.

The rest of the comments regards shipping are in the baileys section on this forum as i'm not the only one

well I just got a $330/3 point fine for going through a yellow light. I thought yellow was ok, but apparently yellow is the new red. I probably didnt help myself when I laughed at the Police oficer when he cut off his fellow officer (who was the first to speak to me) because I didnt immedittly admit fault and beg forgiveness, and he said if thats how Im going to play it, then proceeded with "flooring it" and "30 meters before the intersection"......after I stopped laughing I said "mate im in a Landrover, I can put my foot to the floor all you want and it isnt going to do anything..." He then carried on about stuff at which point I said hey im happy for you to give me the ticket, you are going to anyway, but you need to get your facts right first.

I think they must get a bag of lollies or a gold star for every ticket they hand out.....shame they have been ordered to focus on such technicalities what with all the drug dealers, thugs, and drug affected theives on the Gold Coast.

Oh and McBob, I dont care what went on with you and Baileys. Oncer again my BS ditector is going off the charts. I know for fact I was paying between US$120-150 for USPS Priority for a 70-100cc saw 3 years ago or more. USPS prices have definitely gone up in the last 12 months and not just a few dollars. (more fact) UPS is not the United States Postal Service BTW. And the USPS has many many different services for shipping that will change the price. Just becasue you are happy for them to send it cheap arse express, doesnt mean they will (not worth the trouble if it turns bad) and it also doesnt mean they are ripping you off.

Please go away now

yep prepared to stop if safe, I guess since the road was wet I figured just as safe to keep going considering how close to the solid white line I was...but heck I guess you were right there lol.

3 strikes hey, well you should have been out on your arse years ago!

Come on old man,,,, so now its piss off a bigger sponcer time, why don't you answer who those boys are in that racing pic i put up today, after all they have all been at it for a long time and anyone racing will know some of them. Which one is ''WILL''.

I think your up to 4 strikes now, how does that feel.

I dunno bob every time I have had dealings with baileys its been good, yes the shipping is outrageous but I drop Gregg a line and he fixes things ,no need to go off half cocked,it gets you no where, unless your dealing with Telstra..................

Baileys is an awesome one stop shop but there basically isn't anything that they have that can't be bought elsewhere, cheaper, and easier.
I had a discussion with Gregg a while ago about them having an auto shipment calculator for overseas orders which does the sums on checkout.
Apparently it is "Too hard".
Funny how everyone else has managed to do it successfully online. I was importing golf gear for years many years ago and auto checkout worked fine from golf tees to 4 foot long drivers.

Don't think I'm siding with Bob as I'm not but if we had a poll from Aussies on Baileys international shipping people would get a shock.

My first experience was giving them my credit card details which then got overcharged for freight. The reply when I passed on my original freight quote was "But it costs more than that to post them". I did get reimbursed but only after a game of email Ping Pong.
The next time I then decided to go the Paypal route. Dramas once again.
Then I ordered a few things at once and had half get delivered one month and half later on.
I know results vary with Baileys but most Aussies I've spoken to have had issues.
If I stuffed up 3 out of 4 orders for an individual with my own business I'd never expect to get that customer back again.
In fact I don't think I've stuffed that many up in the whole time I've been in business.

Now if I get anything in from Brad Snelling in the US and need anything from Baileys I just get him to grab it for me. Absolutely no stuffing around then.

Fair call Matt, but when you have done the numbers Baileys do, come back and tell us home many mistakes are made :msp_sneaky: You have alot more control over your business than any one person at Baileys. With size comes complexity of human nature. As far as check out shipping prices, I have found these to be fraught with problems on other sites for other things. They generally lock you into one service and have to err on the side of caution so prices can be high.

Hell I just worked for a Victrorian building company the could only get my pay correct and sorted on time 40% of the time! You would not believe what they got wrong or could not do if I told you :bang:

At the end of the day we all have to do what makes us warm and Fuzzy, I had no problems recommending Baileys to Rick but did so saying that I knew you had some problems and it would be up to him.

Fark, read it earlier on FB, pinged on an amber ?

Is it worth challenging ? it's nuts.

Friend here got off a DUI after a country race meeting.

Mum was coming to pick her and her friends up, they were leaving the car in the carpark. (cow paddock)

Race course was closing and advised everyone to remove their cars to outside the gates.

What to do? so jumped in car and drove car outside of fence, technically the road shoulder but the shoulder is a stock route and 30'wide, so no-one was anywhere near the road itself.

Highway Patrol watched everyone do this, waited for them all to leave their cars then promptly breath tested and booked every single driver that was waiting for their designated pickup !

Got off in court, but it was a low act by the HP.

I know what you mean mate but if you talk to any of the guys in the US they rarely have any problems. It's only international shipping where the problem lies so it's not exactly a numbers game in that respect.
Fact is that if you spoke to Brad Snelling for example he'd have had few issues with the 100 (1000?) or more times he's dealt with them.
The theory behind online shopping so to speak is that it's meant to be easy. That's why we do it. If option "A" is easier than option "B" then it isn't hard to work out where most people will go.
Over the years I've probably imported more golf gear than chainsaw gear. I was heavily involved in golf and had a heap of guys at other Riverland golf clubs getting me to import things for them.
Online freight pricing was basically smack bang what came in on the Fedex/USPS parcel sticker.

Don't get me wrong though mate and I've had the odd freight issue from other sponsors here too but rare.

Gregg and Baileys are great assets to AS, however their opposition to coming up with an overseas freight calculator is nothing short of a cop out. They have item weights loaded in their system, freight companies have cost calculators to work out how much it will cost to send from one postcode to anywhere overseas, so it's not exactly rocket science. Thousands of other online companies in the US have done it successfully.

What a world we live in. In the case you have posted, I can see how it was thrown out in court. In my case It would come down to my (1) word against their (2) and of coarse the automatic fact that police do not lie and the public do....

The rule states that you must stop on a yellow, the only out is if it is not safe to stop before the intersection. (The officer told me I must stop on a yellow that is the law, I questioned even if I was at the white line and he said you must stop.) Considering he used words like "floored it form 30 meters away" etc He was dead set making me out as a hoon. Yes I did acclerate, (just prior to the Amber) I was behind a crewcab with a boat on a trailer, say approx 23 footer, this vehicle was through the green light, with it going Amber as the hitch was crossing the line, as he was 2/3rds in the turning lane and I could see hm going there I had already adjusted my approch (while green) It was safer to keep going than to stop (wet road) But hey heaven forbid they have any clue about physics. The light went red as I was more than half way through the intersection with my speed having been previously reduced by the CC/trailer going down town main street with light rail road works. If I was doing seventy and got the last millisecond of the Amber I would understand. The Officer also tried to put the quilts on me saying what If I ran someone over!!!

Now that confused me and I pulled him up on it, asking in which direction they would be coming from as I didnt get the statement, he said "across", to which I said, so they would be crossing againts a red light and Im only going through a green changed to yellow...he just rolled his eyes.

Remind me to tell you about my good mate that was "caught" speeding over a bridge. It was a stitch up and it took more than 12 months to go away. I say go away becasue that is what literally happend. The Police and its representives tried all sorts of BS and in the end they (Police) just stopped pursuing it, with no fromal retraction or actual court judgement, even though he did show up to court more than a couple times.

I was thinking how the hell did he come to the fact that I "floored" it??? with 250lb rear springs and well above 100% antisquat, there is no way the rear squated down under any accleration, especially from a 50 something all wheel kw vehicle hahahahahaha

I agree 100% with what you have said here Matt, and hope Gregg takes it on board. I will say, that Im one of those types that prefers to deal with a person, even if just an email, rather than click and pay. I do use Ebay and Amazon, but for all my auto parts and saw parts, tools etc it usually means some Q's back and forth anyway to confirm stuff and then I just get them to do the shipping.

Its funny how many of the US guys loath USPS, but when compared to other countries postal services, it shines in my books. Some US companies will not use it, no matter what. That leaves Fedex, UPS etc which I have always found more expensive and always seem to have to go get from the depot, or arange a second delivery...

Best click and shop to date though was some starrett gear from Amazon. Ordered Wednesday night, delivered Friday!!! yes 2 days and the stupid thing was it was one order for 4 items....yep I got three seperate deliveries on the friday hahahahaha how could something so efficent, be so inefficent??????

I am not disagreeing with you or the facts

you were driving a diesel, does it over fuel at full throttle and low rmp by any chance?

Well if the sponcer Baileys cant get their act together that's their problem .... would you pay $512-00 bucks or for that matter 154-00 when I got it from Germany for around $30-00 with a tracking number to my door.

I know who Will is and a few of the others no worries you having memory problems again Neil ?

I might be getting a bit long in the tooth but i'm not getting senile

McBob.
