Your saw wasn't blowing enough 2-stroke smoke
But yeah, swarms of bees are no fun at all.
i am hoping they moved on and left the hive so i can raid it

It is a Rottne H-8, only one in Aus, we do Pre Commercial Thinning in hardwood plantations, the job we had up at Cooktown was in a Teak plantation, we normally operate in the Spotted Gum plantations in the south burnett area.
The head on the machine is a guilitine shear, it can handle upto 200mm dia. here is a video from the cab

Good old bees I was talking to a local tree crew the other day who had left their high lift truck on site after he cut straight through a beehive in a hollow old Cottonwood about 6m off the ground. His saw and everything is still in the bucket and he got the crap hammered out of him by the time he lowered the bucket enough to bail out. I think they were going back that night to retrieve it and spray out the hive.
Yeah i went back yesterday arvo and they were still pretty pissed, might take a look tomorrow
Those Mortean insect bombs work on um.:smile2:
You can throw a couple of cockroach bombs at them and then go if with two cans of fast knock down
If you do please have some one video the action
Or if you are feeling all green smoke them out it will work.
No need to video this if you do this as it will not be as exciting to watch

MCW, everything is cut off at ground level and the stump is sprayed as soon as it is cut, there is a set of spray nozzles set up near the shear plate under the head. With the quickness of spraying the stump we don't have any issues with regrowth. The whole spray system is pretty trick and was designed by the bloke who owns the machine, now that we worked all the bugs out of it we are changing the head to a LogMax 4000 head with a chainsaw cutter and it's herbicide application is through the saw bar itself.

This type of machine sorts out bee hives, as well as falling logs too.
edit.... aussie 1, what a pair, they are up here as well in our pine, the timco's i finished up in were falling native hardwoods using unicon and rossin heads.
