I'm looking for the choke and throttle linkages for a McCulloch 250. I had a pile of old Macs around, and put off copying the linkages off of another, and now I'm left with just the 250, with homemade ones :bang:. They work, but I'd like the originals.

As far as I know, and please correct me if I'm wrong, these linkages are the same for all McCulloch front tanks that use Tillotson HL's.

Have parts, $$$, or a root beer-scented pencil to trade.

Needing some parts for a Remington Pro 88. Looks like the clutch cover/bar clamp and air filter guts are missing. Not sure what else. An IPL would help.

Pumps only 60 psi and no spark. :msp_sad: But at 2.250" bore territory it may be possible to find a lawnmower piston and/or rings that would work.

Old mag. stuff to trade or bills in small denominations.

Hey Mark I think one of those saws is a Homelite 700 series gear drive. Can you check out the sprocket that it has? If it is a 404 or even better, a rim sprocket adapter, I will pay (or trade) for it. Those are hard to find.

No the one I saw was the one in the middle with the green handlebar grip. Homelite gear drives have a 5/8" hole and then they are keyed twice, with two opposed keyways. Even if it only had one keyway it would work, two is overkill.

Chances are if it is an EZ that it has a 1/2" sprocket on it. Plus looking closer at it I can see it is not a gear drive anyway, so I am pretty sure the sprocket has a clutch drum on it.

Has anyone laid claim to the Remingtons yet? The white with gold/brown top and the white with orange top.
thanks jnl

The only "big" Homelite in the batch was an EZ.

What is the shaft diameter of the Homelite gear drives?

JP that is an EZ, which is a direct drive (which you figured out from the pic). Basically the father to the Zip. Most likely came with 7/16" chain, although many (including my EZ) have had .404 swapped on sometime in the last 40+ years as they take the same drums as C-series and Zip/600D/700D Homelites. The 700 series gear drive Homelites have a smaller shaft diameter than the 1100/1130/3100G Homelites. That smaller shaft diameter is the same as most McCulloch gear drives (19/32"). The Mac sprockets can be used on the 700/900/Wiz series gear drive Homelites if you file the key a bit IIRC. They're also not too hard to find in .404 (unlike the 5/8" bore 1100/1130/3100G Homelite .404 sprockets and rim drive adaptors).

Any interest in these. I will be needing some parts for a couple of saws that I have not gotten to yet. But just haven't made a list yet.

I have enough stuff around here now that I really don't want to go into these. The 1-43 had spark I though. Both cylinders look good and comrpession feels good. Both have tilly carbs on them.

I for sure think they could be runners. The 1-40 has white death on the starter cover and the 1-43 starter is sticky and will need work. The rest mould be typical feul system etc. Clean points.

80ccs of ear busting fun right here

Anyone got the saw that this bar and chain belongs to? 3/4" pitch chain, and the bar is almost a 3 footer.

What to look for

Well, this weekend is another big consignment sale in my area. At the last one I picked up the Gear drive David Bradley, and the Disston 2 man, no Remmingtons :msp_mad:. But what I saw was a ton of Macs, Polands, and other brands going for very cheap prices. (older saws). All of the Huskys and Stihls are very popular, and I'm not really interested.

What really bothered me is there could have been many great saws getting sold for $5 worth of scrap, that I just didn't even look twice at because I know nothing about them.

So what I'm looking for from all of you is a good list of saws to keep an eye out for. (Make and Model #'s)

I like anything vintage, and I'm looking for stuff that I can clean up, get running and sell quickly. Or even if someone is looking for something special for their own collection, let me know and I will watch.

The last sale had over 5,000 pieces of all farm equipment, and the like. And what I would say at least 200 saws.

Keep an eye out for Pioneer P40 thru P65, and Poulan 655, 525, 455. I like them saws.

poulan 3400 to 7700. I have some of the 3400s, but nothing larger yet. That would be Beaird-Poulan models. The three digit models are nice, too. You'd really have to check the poulan sticky for all of them, what's cool or not, I am still new to this, but rule of thumb is large=cool.

Cool. Thanks Carl. I'll get back to you when the saw comes my way.

That XL-104 show up yet?

I got a Lombard AP 42 type in the mail today. Tons of comp. but no spark. Have to visit the hardware store for some #12-24 x 2 1/2" machine screws for my steering wheel puller.

Bent what I had....................................................
