This all just begs for aftermaket stuff like pistons, rockers, camshafts!, and all manner of stuff to separate you from your money. It will at least be using proven 4 cycle technology to hot rod the saws. We're just a short time away from liquid cooled saws using exotic fluids to move the heat to a radiator mounted...? On your back maybe?
 
i Just wanted to be the first one on my block with a four stroke chainsaw.

I have a habit of using my failed junk stuff in concrete as rebar sooner or later,
Cracked engine blocks are a favorite with cranks, heads and cams.
 
Who sells the senix returns? I’d like to purchase a return to dissect it.
I'd check your local Tractor Supply in the back of the store. They mark down and sell their returns in the back of the store with a tag noting the reasons for the return and a notice there is no longer a warrenty. I have bought several returned items (like a pressure washer) at half the price of a new one, got them running and kept them for my own use.
 
I really like the idea of a four stroke saw as a truck saw. Fuel easily usable in both the truck and the saw, without having to carry two stroke oil. Engine oil can work as bar oil, engine oil in the truck, and engine oil in the saw. Definitely hope they make me whole with the warranty and the next saw does better.
 
Turbo chargers the size of a hen's egg! I see saw manufacturer's going the way of the auto makers and have just a couple engine sizes and varying the horsepower with internal parts. Makes sense from their standpoint. Cooling and weight are the only things standing in the way of making 2 cycle saws go the way of the DoDo. Nitrous Oxide injection that is in a tank on your back next to the radiator! You heard the future here first!

The only turn off is doing oil changes,

On you tube there’s a four stroke saw that the crankcase oil is the same as the engine oil. It seems the land down under has more four stroke choices.
 
That's what I thought I was getting, a saw that ran the engine oil through the engine, and then pumped it out to the bar. Single use total loss system. I was pleasantly surprised.
 
It needs to be lighter in weight, have more rpm to compete with 2t saws. But it appears to be slower but have more torque. Having more torque we can make the rakers deeper, hog out the gullet using full chisel chain. Skip tooth?

i have owned many old 2 stroke bikes in the past started riding bikes in the mid to late 1970's i have owned or ridden many older bikes including , maico , husqvarna honda cr and kawasaki kx 500's ect and some new stuff also , your old Husqvarna is**** NOT ON PAR ****with the new stuff , it may be fun to ride ....and in a vintage desert race it may be competitive againt other vintage bikes , but not against the new stuff if it was , everyone would be riding them ...soon the electric bikes will no doubt take over..... such as the new , 80 plus hp "Stark Varg " .... welcome to change

Yeah I rode old Bultacos. Mostly later 80s 370 Pursang, they were AWSOME bikes but a modern 2 stroke does everything much better. I do like my old Macs for bucking large oak and maple but use my Husky’s for felling limbing. I finially bought a Senix to so what all the talk was about. I’ll use it next week on a job and give a working revue on it—-if it makes it! Lol
 
Senix makes four stroke leaf blowers and what ever else. Seems they should have some mini four stroke knowledge under there belt.

yes, i forgot about bultaco's , and for good reason ....i had one of those also...... A ....250 2-stroke of course .... The absolute... worst suspension... possible not that any bikes in the 70's hade good suspension but husqvarna was near the best .... but I would like to have one now a bultaco ... as their value in good condition is ...up....
 
Picked it up yesterday and used it a bit today. Its weird not smelling two stroke exhaust and hearing what sounds like a Honda weed eater. It's got grunt for a 45-50cc saw. It was a little finicky on dead cold start but starts with 1 pull after warming up and a few more after sitting a couple of hours. I don't get how it got an on par with a ms170 comparison because it's miles better than that in my opinion.
I'll do a video Friday so I can put it up against my g5000.

Thanks for starting this- I took pictures of this saw (in box) at local TSC and was going to post and ask about them.

The Japan dirtbike manufactures make a dam good reliable four stroke. I wonder how long before the Chinese clone the jap engines scaled down.
 
The Senix stuff is made by Yat tool which makes a lot of battery yard equipment for various companies. They at one point had a full line of 4 stroke saws from 46-79cc but have since discontinued the above 49cc ones.
 
Yep, or a little extra bump on one of the cam lobes.

Make sure you pull the cord on these like you mean it. They have a small starter handle and like to kick if you pull it over slowly.
