I have to rebuild the carb though, its not picking up any fuel :(

Thats just about the simplest saw carb to rebuild. Your fuel "pick up" issue may just be fuel line related as well. Judging by the fitting-to-carb line, I'd say the pickup line might just be shot. That saw IS bigger than you young Jacob. Hard to tell from the pics whether you're holding the saw, or it's holding you...:jester:

I can start it with one hand
(One hand on the throttle, the other on the recoil rope)
I may be small, But ya gotta remember what my job is. Carrying boxes, furniture and stuff all day! LOL

Enough fiddlefartin' with pictures and such. Getcha some fuel line and an RK-88HL kit and make it run!:D

:chainsaw::chainsaw:

I got some fuel line yesterday.

Ill have to find a kit next! I got so much other projects im working on, trying to get them done before I go back to work haha

That sounds familiar. Just wait 'til you you get a bit older and have kids Jacob. When I was your age, I was going to school, plus working for peanut wages. Strangely, I still had much more disposable income and time to tinker than i do now, two + decades later.......:msp_confused:

Here's an entry that you do not see everyday, probably not too many in this thread.

The Solo 603. A really nice saw!! Thanks Jacob J for the wrap handlebar!!!

It is wearing a 36" sprocket nose bar with .404 chain.

Ya gotta bring it to the next GTG so
i can run it.

You wanna run that? I figured since you built that badass 101 geardrive that you would never want to touch any other saw. I guess I am wrong, since you've still got what, 15 Dolmar 166's...

Thanks Lee and Mark.....

So I got this saw from Hoss, and he put a vid on youtube as well. I added a couple parts to it, but the motor is essentially the same. One thing I noticed is the difference in smoke coming from the saw. I think this is all about the mix. I use 100LL Avgas mixed 40:1 with Amsoil Dominator synthetic oil. It is truly amazing how clean my mix burns. Only thing you can see in my vid is the oil spray coming off the bar.

I know this is off topic, but I found it interesting, so bear with me here.......

I'll run any big saw there shop monkey.
Don't matter to me. They are all fun.
Wrong on the 166 count.

Why did you choose Dominator over Sabre? I was under the impression Sabre was the better choice for 2 strokes.

Dominator is technically for racing snowmobiles. I used to put it in my sleds back when I ran sleds, and I tried it in the saws and I have never looked back. Never used Sabre, so I can't comment. I have used Interceptor, and I saw no difference.

A gallon of Dominator is about $40, and it lasts for a really long time for the amount of cutting that I do. I use a 3 ounce Dixie cup per gallon of gas to measure the mix. Good tip from a fellow AS member.
