Rebuilding that carb is as easy as a walk in the park...

Looks like the governor on your saw has been removed. How do you keep the choke lever in the open position ?
Do you have the air filter for your saw ?

Didn't know there was a governor? Yepp I do have the air filter.

Thanks to a member here being cooperative to picking up and working with my neighbors employee this now resides here. I am very happy with it and is as stated by Whiskers:msp_thumbsup: give him some rep if he jumps in here.

It is a Homelite 2000 but most alread propably now that. I have kind of regreted selling the 3100G that I had but CM76 is the owner of it. Although I must say I am not big on gear reduction saws though. The extra grunt is not real usefull in my area and I just like the direct drive better. I try to run at least an old saw every time I do tree work so this saw will see use:hmm3grin2orange:

One can never really have to many 6+cube saws right:msp_confused:

You can send that big 2000 over to me as well Shane if you like!
Jokes aside - congrats on a fine looking Homelite 2000. It looks really clean, and will be alot of fun to run. It still has its cylinder cover which appears to be rare for a 2000. Every one I come across seems to be missing this particular part which is frustrating as they never seem to come up for sale either!!!

Enjoy that big Homelite - 114cc of old school power.

Regards,

Chris.

Thanks and if I get tired of it I will let you know;) It is hiding in a cabinet at this time. If I make it to the GTG in Iowa it will be there. I don't think there is anything missing from it and didn't know the covers were mostly missing from most, but it stand to reason as you have to take it off to get to the plug so I could see why they are left off.

The strange thing about it all is that the cover has the decomp latch screwed to it, so it is not real handy at all when it is missing.

Remember Shane........without pics it didn't happen...:D

I think there was a picture (mitch?)of Wendell in his sweat pants from the first GTG I attended.

I think they put a no crack clause in all future GTGs after that:laugh:

First, I must apologize in advance for breaking the cardinal rule: "Pics or it didn't happen". I don't have a camera right now; they only last me six months, and my most recent one died a few weeks ago and I haven't replaced it yet. That said, it's been a GREAT week for me as a saw nerd.

I have acquired:

Homelite 770G + 32" General sprocket nose bar & .404" Oregon chain
Homelite 770D + 20" Homelite hardnose bar & 1/2" Oregon chain
Homelite 909D + 36" Oregon rollernose bar + .404" Oregon chain
Pioneer 610 + 20" hardnose bar + 1/2" Oregon chain
McCulloch 1-80 + 20" McCulloch hardnose bar & McCulloch 7/16" Pintail chain

as well as trading my 038 Mag 2 for a Husqvarna 2100CD w/36" Oregon B/C. All saws are complete and either run or can be made to in a couple of hours or less.

That is, 592cc gained, 72cc lost, for a net gain of 520cc. Total cost $650. I'm feeling pretty good about this week. Pics as soon as I have the hardware to make 'em.
