Dominator is technically for racing snowmobiles. I used to put it in my sleds back when I ran sleds, and I tried it in the saws and I have never looked back. Never used Sabre, so I can't comment. I have used Interceptor, and I saw no difference.

A gallon of Dominator is about $40, and it lasts for a really long time for the amount of cutting that I do. I use a 3 ounce Dixie cup per gallon of gas to measure the mix. Good tip from a fellow AS member.

Well, if you're running that stuff in the saws, then how could a synthetic Royal Purple snowmobile oil hurt?

Once I get the 610 squared away, I'm gonna use it as a guinea pig for the oil. I think it'll work fine... when that time comes around, look for another oil thread... :D

Thanks Lee and Mark.....

So I got this saw from Hoss, and he put a vid on youtube as well. I added a couple parts to it, but the motor is essentially the same. One thing I noticed is the difference in smoke coming from the saw. I think this is all about the mix. I use 100LL Avgas mixed 40:1 with Amsoil Dominator synthetic oil. It is truly amazing how clean my mix burns. Only thing you can see in my vid is the oil spray coming off the bar.

I know this is off topic, but I found it interesting, so bear with me here.......

I'm not suprised here. I have been running 93 octane with stihl ultra at 32:1 in everything I own until recently I switched also to amsoil dominator, but still at 32:1. I find that it doesn't load up and I don't mind a little extra lube in some of these old brutes. Also doesn't seem to hurt cutting performance either, but the smoke free environment that your mix creates in nice. I might try bumping my mix to 40:1 in a few and see how it clears up.

Here's my Jonsereds 111S. Just got it running. Has plenty of compression, yet the acceleration is lousy. I think I need to rebuild the carb. Sweet saw though, I like it!!!!

Is it me or does it kind of sound like a blow dryer??? :msp_confused:

Those 111's have a machine sound like that. At least mine does, but not as strong. And I've heard others in video's that kind of have that machine sound. Maybe the mufflers are so good you can hear the other parts of the saw, I don't know.

It is not as noticeable in person as it is on the vid, but yes it sounds quite different. The muffler is pretty quiet too. The chain was brand new, but the oiler was putting out plenty. Before running I checked the chain and I could pull it around the bar effortlessly.

Actually it sounds almost like an Electrolux vacuum, lol!!!!
