I got's one of them's Echo 100's. Bought it from a dude over in
the UK and got royally screwed so i stuck it up in the atic of my
shop in hopes to forget about it. Hope to find a nice one someday.
Lee

Lee, I got to look at the old Echo today and it is really nicely built. Got lucky as this one seems lightly used - comp is 150 lbs and the piston and bore are perfect. It runs fine and has some good old fashioned grunt. Reminds me of the similar sized Pioneers and Canadiens I have used; perhaps the Japanese gave more than a passing glance at the US made sixties saws?

That would be it, Lee...

Have you noodled with an 80+ inch bar yet? That would be oodles of noodles, and oodles of fun...

Forgot to post pics of my latest 6.1ci saw here in the 6ci thread. Already posted pics in the Homelite thread. It's a Homelite 1050A. Had a Walbro SDC 'upgrade' installed in it (in place of the Tillotson HL) at some point. 31" Oregon RN bar and a 95DL loop of .404. Runs great, but has a few minor issues. One of the manifold bolt holes in the crankcase is stripped. Going to helicoil it to put the saw back in service. Crankcase also has a chunk busted away from the lower left handlebar mount boss. Will eventually swap in a good used crankcase to fix that. May swap in another HL manifold and carb.........as I'm not a fan of fixed H-side SDC's (and prefer Tillotson HL's). It does run well with this SDC carb since I rebuilt it however.....

My first 100+cc saw

Picked this up for $40. Pioneer 650. Hadn't been started since 2004. Blew out the gas tank, added fresh mix, and after a couple pulls, it started right up. Came with the original Pioneer 24" bar, too.

Not to shabby for 40 beens. Even though
it's been repainted black. They're a very kool
saw. Good luck with it.

Lee

It hasn't been repainted. I looked it over completely, and there's no trace of yellow. Someone, in the Pioneer forum, thought that it might have been a special order for government:confused:
