I'm always on the prowl for another 6+ cuber.

202cc added to the RandyMac stable.

I see they made the trip fine. Looks like the 550 underwent a bit of cosmetic surgery in Crescent City. With a clutch cover, spike, and AF cover change it looks like a little old 80cc Mac. Planning on hustling some locals for PBR money???:D

He must be plotting something...

As for sleeper saws, I was thinking a lowly 1-43 shell with a six cube engine bolted in... also having extensions welded onto the top fins to make it truly look like a stock 1-43 cylinder...

I got problems. They're all yellow... :D

I have a 1-41 u could do it with its not runnin if ya feel like gettin it project let me kno

I like the Mac yellow El Camino (or is it a Ranchero?), need a pic of that full of Macs on and around. Gives me an ideal! I think my '71 cornbinder will look good in Mac yellow! Going to have to work on that.

Randy's ride is a Ranchero. What cornbinder do you have? I've seen both Scouts and pickkups in yellow. They looked good. I have a 1967 Scout 800, a 1974 SII, and a 1971 4WD 1210 Travelette (4 door crew cab pickup). All are 'projects'. The green Travelette is my usual saw photo platform as of late.

6.3 cubes of old crusty McMuscle sitting on the hood of a Binder...

That is a good Idea, use it for a photo platform! Mine is a '71 1110 4WD. I will see if I have some pics of it and post.
Didn't mean to slander the Ranchero, I thought that might be what it was. I like them better than the El Camino as well.

Travelette?? Is that one of them Suburban wannbees?

We had one for a time in 1970. Dad was between pickup trucks and had to have something to fill in. Got all set up to paint it one sat. morning and he was called in to work. I had to finish the job (white enamel). ...........................................................................More curtins than a funeral home.

The Travelall is the vehicle that the Suburban wished it was. The Travelette is a 4-door crew cab pickup.

Here's my 1971 1210 Travelette. 3/4 ton 4WD 4-door pickup. 4V 392 V8. T34 O/D five speed manual.

This is another pic I grabbed from the net. Shows a Travelette, a 2WD Travelall, a regular cab IHC pickup, and a Scout II.

The Travelette had a 392 4v V8?

Would that be the Chrysler Hemi?

Nope.

The manufacturers have had matching displacement numbers (with TOTALLY unrelated engines) for years.

-GM had a 292ci I6. Ford had a 292ci V8.

-Mopar had the legendary 392ci hemispherical head V8. IHC had a 392ci medium duty truck V8 (no relation). Nodular iron block and heads. Gear driven camshaft. Forged steel crankshaft and conrods....

-Studebaker had a 289ci V8. Ford did too. Totally different engines.

-IHC had a 304ci medium duty truck V8 (same attributes as the 392). AMC had a 304ci car/light truck V8. No relation........despite what internet yahoos and magizine writers have said.

-GMC had a 351ci medium duty truck V6. Great engine. Ford had a 351ci car/light truck V8.

-Cadilac had a 429ci V8. Ford did too. No relation....

-Pontiac had a 428ci V8. Ford did too. No relation...

-Ford had several different 427ci car engines. Chevy had both high performance car and medium duty 427ci V8's. No relation...

-Ford and Chevy both had high performance 302ci car engines (Boss 302 and Z28 302). No relation. Ford also had a 'regular' car 302ci V8 (also called the 5.0).

There are more that I can't remember right now. I think ya get the point....:D

The one we had was a '63(ish), like above only lots uglyier. 300 sumptin 8 with Ford-O-Matic.

Dad prefered Chevrolet except when it came to pickup trucks and then it was Ford. Had several El Caminos.

If it was a 1963 it would have had either a six or the 266ci or 304ci V8's. The 345ci and 392ci V8's came a little later. AMC 401's were used in a few 1970's Travelalls, Travelettes, and pickups (called a 400 by IHC) when the supply of 392's was running low. The auto would have been a Borg Warner auto, similar to the Ford FMX. The 1961-1968 Travelall/Pickup style is hard on the eyes at times. The later (1966-1968) rigs of that body style look a bit better.

The 'box' style like my 1971 Travelette came out in 1969 and was produced through 1975 when the pickup/Travelall production ended. IHC 'consolodated' their Light Line (pickups/Travelalls/Scouts) to where the Scout II platform covered that section of the market. They had 'wagon' and 'pickkup' style Scout II's in both 100 inch and 118 inch wheelbases from 1975 through 1980 when the light line ended (due to financial troubles, and a UAW strike). The 100 inch Scout II was built from 1971 through 1980. Earlier Scout 80 and Scout 800 (also 100 inch WB, but with less rear 'overhang') were built from 1961 through 1971.

Here's a green 1965 Travelall. Grabbed this pic from the web.

IHC also produced a vehicle called the Wagonmaster for a short time. Was basically a Travelall with a short bed rather than the rear section with liftgate. Had a cab like the Travelette. It was meant for towing 5th wheel trailers and being an 'all around' utility vehicle. The Chevy Avelanche is of a similar style.......although it came around decades later.
