Very good idea and picture of the fast idle mod when startting.
Most all of my old Macs want a choke and open throttle when starting cold.

An easy mod at first is to take a solid copper #10 wire and wrap couple loops around the throttle trigger on the handle while the trigger is pulled and then slaken the wire loops so as when the saw starts the loop can be just slid down off the trigger and the loop remains on the handle for next use. This can be used with and without the choke.
Them old Mac's do not rev up fast like a Stihl when they start even at full throttle so lots of time to just push the wire loop off the throttle trigger.
This easy test mod also lets you know if the fast idle start is what the OLD Mac wants for a better start.
I can also prime start most of mine by just priming through the muffler instead of removing the air filter cover, especially if it's the cast muffler.
Agree with Mark. Do not mod the 250 bar STUDS. (and stay with the .404 chains)

If you have Amazon Prime you can send the bar back for a full refund USUALLY.
Just contact Amazon at their return link.
