Yeah, it was HOT today. I was in my teeshirt for the first time in months!

It got up to around 61* with a light wind!:D

I was doing hazard deadwood on a treeline of cottonwood. Fun stuff!

Right on Butch, I have to agree with ya there, I did a removal on a gnarly maple in the front yard, took out the busted pieces of an ash in the back yard, then the home owner bought my groundie and I pizza for lunch. then we trimmed up his locust and other maple in the back yard, I talked to him about some cambistat for the busted up Ash tree, and talked him through vertical mulching procedures, the whold time he was helping my groundie drag brush, and then to top it all off he gave both of us a $100.00 tip!!!! This guy is definately going on my Christmas Card list. It just dont get any better than this. Oh did i mention that is was a balmy 75 degrees and then when I started to sort of work up a sweat this afternoon the clouds rolled in and it cooled off? Days like this just make me tear up a little bit when I look back. God I love doing what I do for a living!!!!!

The weather here was nice also. I was structurally pruning, cabling and bracing a large Mulberry tree. Yeah, a Mulberry, that overhung a deck and a hot tub. I was thinking the same thing........WHY DO YOU WANT A MULBERRY TREE OVER YOUR DECK AND HOT TUB? They said they love the shade it provides.......what about the berries, do you love them too? They said that they wanted to save no matter what it cost...........Did I tell you I'm a certified arborist? Of course I can fix the four large cracks forming between the leaders now that the cost is out of the way.

I like working with trees but people never cease to amaze me.

Sure it's not a male? Mulberry is dioecious.

What would the would replace the shade they have now?

I like mulberry, I'm keeping several pollarded ones at church. Just stripped them out yesterday.

On days like today I just kick back and take a moment to ponder things while looking at the views of Denver from the canopy of a tree and say to my self: " I cant believe some one is actually paying me to do this."

It was the same here. But we still broke a major sweat loading the tree from yesterday, the top wasnt bad, but the trunk would make a man outa anyone.

Seems like the weather was nice everywhere today! We had our first clear day after five days of straight rain (over 16"). It was lovely, with the wind blowing and the sun peeking through the clouds and making moving patches of light on the mountains.

Cleaned up a bunch of palms this morning and dissasembled a 50ft banyan over a stream in the afternoon. Everything went perfect until I was bucking up branches in the stream bed and dropped my running chainsaw into three feet of water. putt putt hissssss....gurgle gurgle. Made me feel like a five star fool, but I guess we all need that occasionally, and overall it was a great day.

they say its going to be back to the rain again tomorrow...

oh, anyone got any good tips on drying out a soggy chainsaw?:p

Today was awesome, but tomorrow is gonna suck big hairy moose lips. I gotta brush hog a bunch of scrub oak, but just got a few cedar removals and some odds and ends on Friday. As for the fishin part I am heading up to Brush Hollow on Saturday, That is Stumpers neck of the woods, Wondering if he wouldnt mind drowning a few worms, drinkin a few beers and tellin a whole lot of lies about trees.

I am supprised that it didnt crack the case!!

I aint sure of the methods to dry out a 2 stroke. Pull the plug and clear the water. Refill with fresh gas. That is as far as I know.

Kenn, I'd be delighted to join you at Brush Hollow Saturday....BUT I'm already committed to going to Deweese to troll icewater from a float tube.--You don't have to be crazy but it helps!

Brush hollow is a great little lake. You may catch trout, walleye, bass , green sunfish, crappie or catfish.
