Talking to a local Homelite dealer, he said he could live off the sales of the (newer, plastic-bodied) XL-12s - but he could never keep them in stock. This obviously tells me that the smaller Homelites are/were very popular saws. I've seen the advertising for them, too, and they do say that they're great for homeowners, campers, occasional users, etc. Perhaps the customers are thinking that the Stihl 192 and 200T are similar, or perhaps Stihl is trying to get a piece of that market.
