yes, on the recliner. i bought a new one two weeks ago. i thought my old one was ok until i had the last shoulder surgery. you quickly realize how hard it is to sleep if everything is not perfect. i sat in over 50 different ones bf i settled on the one i have now. my old one just sits in the corner staring at the new girl........did you have the nerve block? i didn't for my rotator cuff and i woke up wishing i had. i am going to have it done for this one.

I spent five years looking for a stand in for my favorite chair. I say stand in because the old one is in the garage awaiting a restoration. No other chair can ever replace it. I slept better in it than in my bed. My wife has threatened to throw it away but she knows better. Good luck with the surgery and rehab.

Hey Boss!

Sounds like you're having what I had done about eight years ago to my right shoulder - or something very similar. Sub-acromial decompression, to make room for the rotator cuff?

It wasn't fun but the results were awesome!!

Good luck, I hope that it goes well!!

Vicodin/Norco/Percocet - Ask for it by name!

don't worry my friend,my shoulder (right) was so bad it would fall out shaking someones hand! after It was surically repaired it has been better than new!!
It sucks going under the knife but these guys are like us, but with scalpals instead of saws so you know they are going to do it right!

Good luck on the surgery, Neal. You're not the only one up this early..... Look forward to hearing from you later. Maybe the Mrs. can give us an update?

well, i'm leaving in minutes. thanks to all for you thoughts and most of all for the prayers. yes, it is a sub-acromial decompression. at least we hope that is all that is needed. them rotator cuffs aren't fun.......with the nerve block i shouldn't have too much pain today. but once that block wears off, i will be on a steady diet of meds. don't worry, i am not scared to take them.
Thanks,
Neal

tomorrow i go under the knife to repair a shoulder. the dr plans to shave part of my shoulder socket down to give me more space for the muscles to move. right now i can't raise my L arm much above 45° to the side. i has been keeping be awake at night and i decided enough was enough. shots and PT were not improving things for more than a few weeks. if things are as the surgeon thinks, i will be back to normal (read chainsaws) in a month to 6 wks. he doesn't think i have any ligament or cartilage damage which would drastically extend the recovery. i had a similar issue with my R shoulder which i ignored until i finally eroded away the major tendon that comprises the rotator cuff. that was a fairly major surgery. very painful with months of rehab. i wasn't fully able to lift above my shoulder for more than a year. it is fully functional now and the same guy is doing the work this time. i have to be at the hospital at 5.30am. pray for my wife as she has to get up with me and then take care of me when we get home. i just get to sleep tomorrow!!! thanks for your prayers!!!!!!

Ha there Neal
I cant believe what i have just read,i know how you feel mate i came off a quod bike and broke the bone( proximal humerus) where the tendons hang onto. This was last October, they operated and put a screw in and re attached the tendons back on,and im still not back at work yet but have been cutting wood for the last two months. This has been the longest and most painful last 8 or 9 months of my life. The only good thing about it is it was my left shoulder,so i have still been able to wipe my ass.Anyway im thinking of you and i hope it all goes well.
Cheers
Andrew
