Homeowner said its boxwood. I've never seen a boxwood this large. DBH is approx 22". A 16" round, while heavy, is not as heavy as a 16" x 18" round of maple. Splits easy enough, not stringy and very white. Splits almost exactly like Ash. Seems to be a bit on the soft side.

Need more pics ,different angles show the grain, but Ash maybe.
 
I googled boxwood to see what it was. At least from the few pictures I think it looks more like box elder than boxwood but I'm no expert on either of those.
 
Closest I can come with only that pic is Tulip tree. I could be wrong though.
